Bull Run Golf Club

The staff was extremely friendly from the time we checked in. Range balls were included in the greens fees. Great practice area includes driving range, chipping green with sand bunkers, and a gigantic putting green. The starter was very friendly and informative and got us out right on time.

As for the course, it was in great shape. Greens were not fast, but they were very smooth and the ball rolled true.

We played as a foursome at 8:12 am. We were the first group to go out and finished in just about 4 hours. We were all very impressed in the fact that a 9am shotgun tournament went out utilizing the back nine as well as a few holes on the front and we were never delayed by the outing play. This is often a problem at other courses, but Bull Run managed their outing and regular play impeccably. We never caught up to the tournament until the 18th hole when we had to wait a minute for them to clear the fairway before we teed off.

All in all, the course and staff were great. I love the layout, the practice facilities, and the great greens. Definitely one of my favorite courses in the area, and for $62 it was a great value.

I love the layout of this course but had avoided it for many years due to poor conditions. Recently I heard that it was improving under new management so I decided to give it a try. I am pleased to report that not only is the layout still top notch but the course conditions are greatly improved and will only get better. The greens are great and the rest of the course is coming along nicely. The bunkers are the only weak point as they are hard and need more sand but based on the improvements on the rest of the course they will soon be taken care of. I will definitely be adding Bull Run back to my regular rotation of courses.

Price could be lower on the weekend. It isn't a $95 course.

We were very happy with the pace of play. Anytime you can finish 18 holes in about 4 hours is great. Course was in very good shape as well, especially the greens.

Beautiful course in a picturesque setting. Pretty forgiving layout, but still challenging. 'My new favorite course in No Va.

I only gave the course "requires attention" because the tee boxes were in really rough shape. The layout of the course is really nice and pretty fun to play. It was my first time out there and I was playing as a single so I didn't really know where to hit it at times but having seen the whole course and doing the drive I would absolutely make my way back out there. The greens were still a little sandy but hopefully that goes away soon, but I expect that this early in the season. The bunkers were all raked which was nice and not the norm at many courses this time of year. They do have a lot of rocks in them but the staff does a good job of keeping the course all prepped for the golfers. I am a fan and I look forward to getting back.

Bull Run is in the Raspberry Falls family along with Old Hickory. While neither Bull Run or Old Hickory is as nice as Raspberry, they all are courses that should be on your to-do list, and all are among the nicer public courses is NOVA.
Bull Run has improved drastically over the last three years and has grown into one of my favorite tracks. Well placed bunkers, sloping hills, & quality greens make this both a fun as well as challenging course.

Bull Run is worth a try. Off the 3rd tee there were 2 deer laying down watching us. On the 4th fairway another deer was crossing. There are some challenging holes, but the course is in front of you, except possibly for 18. If you are a little off target you can still play the course.

The tee boxes looked like they have southern grass so they were a little patchy, but might be fantastic in the summer.

The course is great and well maintaine. The staffs are very friendly. Will play agian.

The Bull Run Golf Club provides a country setting golf experinece. I enjoyed the simplicity of the golf course which also proved a few challenging holes. I would have appreciated having a "course yardage guide" since this was my first round of golf at Bull Run GC, but they are no longer available for purchase. The golf club staff was friendly but seemed to be a bit unorganized when we arrived at the course. The club "starter" named Bob was very helpful and provided a good overview of the course. A fun golf experience with enough of a twist to satisfy a low handicapper.

I've played it a couple times and enjoy it. Isn't an easy course, but is still fun. Great course layout.

This coarse was excellent, the play was a little slow but the staff did a great job with pairing groups together. The coarse was challenging and will definitely return to play again.

Greens can be much better - Need to be cut and rolled. A little on the expensive end !

I played here several times and this course has all the belts and whistles you would expect for the value of money. This is one of the best public in Northern Virginia area. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for nice golfing experience.

I understand that Bull Run is under new ownership, but the tee boxes and greens are pretty rough right now. Only a handful of greens offer a true line. It's still early though and I have faith in the staff there.

For $92, this place is a joke. The Tee boxes are a mixture of dirt and weeds, not to mention greens were punched and we were still charged full price. (Even if pristine, the course does not warrant $92.) If you can get a golfnow deal for around $45-$50, it MIGHT be worth it.

I would not recommend this golf course to anyone until the tee boxes are improved.

Overall the course looks to be great, however we experienced aerated greens and a marathon round of 5 hrs plus. the marathon round could have been attributed to being the first nice day out in at least a week or so.

I would definitely recommend this course as it is a relatively easy layout, yet challenging enough.

from tee boxes to fairways, course was in bad shape. The putting greens had been aerated so they were slow, as expected. But around the greens the grass was not smooth or manicured, they even had mulch around the greens for some reason. Got a great deal on golfnow for $23 but def would not play the course again.

Despite several days of sunny, warm weather to hopefully dry out the fairways after some light snow and rain, some of the fairways were almost unplayable as balls were buried halfway into the ground upon landing.

The greens were covered completely with sand, I assume for maintenance purposes, so attempting to put was practically futile. The old adage applied the day I played, you get what you pay for.

Other than that, it's one of the best layouts i've played in NoVa and a good deal on GolfNow on a weekday. (I would not recommend playing full price under current conditions).I can see that this would be a beautiful course to play on a nice summer day with drier conditions. Corse is not too difficult for an intermediate player, with wide fairways and trees are not a problems.

To sum it up, excellent layout, but would wait to play under better conditions.
