Bull Run Golf Club

Bull Run has finally returned to it's former beauty. After being down and in financial trouble for several years the cousre has finally returned to it's original shape. Since Raspberry Mgmt took over a few years back they have been working on getting it back into shape. I can finally say that this year they have made it. Tee to green every hole was in superb condition. Fairways are firm and run. The greens are quick and true. Played on a Friday morning. 4.5 hour round. Would have been faster if the group hadn't struggle so much on 3 or 4 holes. $62 on GolfNow is a nice price for this course and the conditions. Will play again.

Course is back to its high standard condition of several years ago. Concern that new home sites will impact golf views.

This was the 4th time I had played this course and it never disappoints. Greens were true and fast, fairways were cut nice and short. Staff were friendly and I played in less than 3 and a half hours.

Would play again any time. Loved the par 5s. And found the 18th to be an awesome finishing hole.

Was very impressed with course condition. Have played this course in the past and the condition of the fairways and greens was not nearly as impressive. The pace of play was also quick, about four hours. Thoroughly enjoyed the round on this fine May day.

The starter was great. Very friendly and informative. The course was in decent shape but could be a little more refined for the price. The staff overall was pretty great with one glaring exception. The course marshall.

We played a 4:45 round with 2 pretty slow, short-hitting seniors. 1/2 way thru 15 we were warned we were 1/2 a hole behind the pace of play. We acknowledged his request and tried to speed things up. Funny thing, no one behind us, no one in front of us. Approaching the 16th green we were sternly told, "you guys are now a full hole behind pace of play, please pick it up." Still no one behind us and the next tee occupied. We felt rushed none the least. We asked why the rush? we're holding up no one. We were told "you need to adhere to the pace of play."
Hoping this would be the end of it we played on. It wasn't. The marshall now with a coworker, parked right off of the 16th green to watch us finish out the hole. They were audibly laughing at us. Very Classy. Now i know we're far from pros, but we all shot 85-105 that day. Clearly they found some humor in our game. I was quite shocked.

I'd like to say I'd try this course again, but there are too many courses in the area with a better value and considerably less hassle.

Course is in great shape! Fairways and greens are manicured.

Beautifully maintained course with fair and forgiving layout, especially the wider than usual fairways, which helps keep the ball in play for high handicappers like me. No holes were overwhelming in difficulty, but were still interesting and challenging. One of my new favorites in nothern Virginia.

While the course is quite a distance from me, I feel it is worth a slot in the annual rotation. Conditions were fantastic. Fairways were pretty wide open. Staff was friendly. The only real negative was a relative slow pace of play, but the course was busy that day. The first foursome we caught up with was very busy with all of their side bets. They didn't even tee off on the first tee until the group in front of them cleared the green (400 yd. par 4). The starter should have prodded them to go. They eventually let us play through. Then we caught another group that was playing from the tips when they were about 20 cappers. Not much the course can do about idiots.

The course was in great shape and has some great risk/reward holes that make the course fun.

Great layout...and the new management has gotten the couse into very playable shape. Bunkers need work and some fairways are still in the process of coming back....Greens are great...One complaint: Golfer's if you want to play courses with nice greens fix you ball marks!

I get what I pay for in DC. Prices in this DC are still pricey. The $100 bucks I payed was well worth it though.

Greens excellent and run true. Some tee boxes require maintenance, fairways and rough in good shape.

The course is in great condition. The staff is excellent!

The staff was extremely friendly from the time we checked in. Range balls were included in the greens fees. Great practice area includes driving range, chipping green with sand bunkers, and a gigantic putting green. The starter was very friendly and informative and got us out right on time.

As for the course, it was in great shape. Greens were not fast, but they were very smooth and the ball rolled true.

We played as a foursome at 8:12 am. We were the first group to go out and finished in just about 4 hours. We were all very impressed in the fact that a 9am shotgun tournament went out utilizing the back nine as well as a few holes on the front and we were never delayed by the outing play. This is often a problem at other courses, but Bull Run managed their outing and regular play impeccably. We never caught up to the tournament until the 18th hole when we had to wait a minute for them to clear the fairway before we teed off.

All in all, the course and staff were great. I love the layout, the practice facilities, and the great greens. Definitely one of my favorite courses in the area, and for $62 it was a great value.

I love the layout of this course but had avoided it for many years due to poor conditions. Recently I heard that it was improving under new management so I decided to give it a try. I am pleased to report that not only is the layout still top notch but the course conditions are greatly improved and will only get better. The greens are great and the rest of the course is coming along nicely. The bunkers are the only weak point as they are hard and need more sand but based on the improvements on the rest of the course they will soon be taken care of. I will definitely be adding Bull Run back to my regular rotation of courses.

Price could be lower on the weekend. It isn't a $95 course.

We were very happy with the pace of play. Anytime you can finish 18 holes in about 4 hours is great. Course was in very good shape as well, especially the greens.

Beautiful course in a picturesque setting. Pretty forgiving layout, but still challenging. 'My new favorite course in No Va.
