About
Situated in the foothills of Bull Run Mountain, Bull Run Golf Club has a beautiful woodland setting that is conveniently located just minutes from many historic Civil War sites. The course plays through mature forests and across lush, grassy meadows. There are also several ponds that come into play throughout. The expansive layout covers over 450 acres, allowing plenty of room for the native flora and fauna. The risk-reward layout has plenty of challenges for more daring hitters but it also offers wide fairways that are molded to steer the ball towards the center. The landing areas are generous but they are often framed by grassy hollows, bunkers, or mature trees. Bull Run is challenging, but playable, which is why the club is considered one of the best golf courses in the D.C. area.

Great course
Course is really a good one. Almost every hole gives you a plenty of landing area. One of my favorite courses in the area.
Always enjoy playing this course
This is my go to course in the Haymarket area of VA. This was a holiday off tee time and even starting at 230 was able to drive off the 18. But it was a guess after that. I love playing here.
Good course, little service
The course was in good shape being winter and as always enjoy the lay out and nature. But…….No water on course, no tee boxes, cart path only, and charge full price. They had a cart lady for once and helped. Basically they have few people managing course and charging full price with amenities now.
Great Course
Would definitely play Bull Run again. Course was dry, greens were challenging, and the layout is wide open yet still provides a challenge.
One of best in NoVa
Played weekend of 10/1. Greens were in great shape with occasional crab grass on the collars. For the amount of play this course receives, the fairways were in good shape as well. Need to kill off the geese on #9 though. Overall, Bull Run continues to be one of the best courses in the area. Love playing it during the fall.
Good course
Good course with very nice rolling greens. Hole 18 is the best hole on the course. Love playing here
One of the best in the DMV
Greens were great. Fairways are thin in some spots but overall, this course offers great fall golf!
Slow Day
Getting around Bull Run in 4.5 hours is normal, but not on 9/26. It was very slow and it was down to a couple of guys that were holding several groups back since they did not understand the concept of pace of play. No ranger to help move these guys along which was needed. The ruff was a little long on several holes that seem to eat up balls and recommend keeping it in the fairway. The staff was great as always and the course condition is what you would expect for this time of year after a pretty brutal summer.
