About
Named after the springs that snake through the layout, Delaware Springs Golf Course is a scenic links-style track that is one of the better values in Texas golf. The low prices and friendly service, combined with a picturesque and challenging golf course, make this a Hill Country favorite.
Architects Dave Axland and Dan Proctor built a natural-looking course that fits the terrain perfectly. The course is nestled into the rolling hills and oak trees along the Highland Lakes, playing 6,891 yards from the tips. During your round you’ll encounter lush fairways frequently loaded with bunkers, large greens that slope severely, and numerous bump and run shots. The designers added a few original touches, such as the descriptive Scottish names for each hole (the 18th is called "Hame" for the home hole).
Another interesting design twist involved placing the signature hole as the opener. Playing 504 yards to a par 5, no. 1 is best attacked with an iron into the left side of a sloping, tree-lined fairway. The creek cuts into the landing area, making it a testy tee shot. The second shot must bend around the dogleg to the left and over the creek, and the approach is into the green shaded by large trees on the right.

Good Experience
Very nice greens, a few with thin areas and one sanded, but nice otherwise. Pace of play was somewhat slow until 4 some dropped out at the turn and then very good.

Slow
The last 3 times that I have played this course it was very slow (5.5+ hours). Each time I noted 5, 6, and most recently a 7 player group ahead of us. No marshals to regulate this.
Nice course, well maintained fairways & greens, with some fun holes. It could be a much better experience if groups were limited to foursomes.

Though we played in 4 hrs, foursomes followed by 2 twosomes shouldn’t be allowed. Group pairs of players together.

This course has it all.
Couse is in great shape. Hardly any of the invasive grass sprouts that seem to be afflicting so many courses in the area on the fast smooth greens. Excellent design provides plenty of risk/reward type holes. Staff is friendly. Carts are electric with automatic brakes so you're not constantly futzing with the parking brake. Nice clubhouse/restaurant with a fantastic burger for about five bucks! Highly recommended!

Great course
This is such a fun course to play. The greens were lightening fast as usual. The course was in great shape. The ladies get really good breaks on a lot of the holes.

Surprised!
The course was in great shape considering the "Texas Freeze" not that far back. The greens were rolling fairly true and the fairways were not TX hard yet. I miss seeing the 150 markers...

Great April Saturday
My wife and I enjoyed our time at Delaware Springs. The course is challenging but not punitive.
The food at the clubhouse was excellent (enjoyed a great breakfast taco and nice club sandwich).
Overall, it was a nice day in the hill country on a nice course. Value for cost is an A+ with a more relaxed approach versus Austin courses. Well worth the short drive
