About
Named after the springs that snake through the layout, Delaware Springs Golf Course is a scenic links-style track that is one of the better values in Texas golf. The low prices and friendly service, combined with a picturesque and challenging golf course, make this a Hill Country favorite.
Architects Dave Axland and Dan Proctor built a natural-looking course that fits the terrain perfectly. The course is nestled into the rolling hills and oak trees along the Highland Lakes, playing 6,891 yards from the tips. During your round you’ll encounter lush fairways frequently loaded with bunkers, large greens that slope severely, and numerous bump and run shots. The designers added a few original touches, such as the descriptive Scottish names for each hole (the 18th is called "Hame" for the home hole).
Another interesting design twist involved placing the signature hole as the opener. Playing 504 yards to a par 5, no. 1 is best attacked with an iron into the left side of a sloping, tree-lined fairway. The creek cuts into the landing area, making it a testy tee shot. The second shot must bend around the dogleg to the left and over the creek, and the approach is into the green shaded by large trees on the right.

Great course, but slow play
As we made the turn we had two groups on the box waiting and a group of SIX finishing on the last green. Too far to drive to play 4.5 hour round.
My new home course
First time playing since moving to the area and what a nice surprise to find such a great course in a small town like Burnet. Greens were flawless, fairways in good shape and the holes offered a great variety and a fair test of all aspects of my game. I was a single and a threesome ahead encouraged me to join their group and were welcoming and full of course advice.

August 20 Review
the mens bathroom was disgusting, especially in the times of COVID, really bad guys. Course is in good shape, front nine was slow, the carts on path on hole 2 is ridiculous and contributed to slow play,

Great Value
This a great best kept secret. Pace of play is great even on a busy Saturday. Course is friendly and very well maintained. Worth the drive if you’re coming from Austin.

Worth the Drive
Overall, a good experience. Got behind a foursome who apparently had never heard of the Play Through concept. 2 deep on the tee waiting. Eventually skipped over them and then it was fun. Some burnout fairways. Greens in good shape. Staff friendly and professional.

Firm Greens with Thick Collars
We started on the back nine and the holes were ho-hum in layout. The front nine was more interesting and two strokes more difficult. Greens were very firm but bump and runs didn’t work so well due to very high collars.
