About
Named after the springs that snake through the layout, Delaware Springs Golf Course is a scenic links-style track that is one of the better values in Texas golf. The low prices and friendly service, combined with a picturesque and challenging golf course, make this a Hill Country favorite.
Architects Dave Axland and Dan Proctor built a natural-looking course that fits the terrain perfectly. The course is nestled into the rolling hills and oak trees along the Highland Lakes, playing 6,891 yards from the tips. During your round you’ll encounter lush fairways frequently loaded with bunkers, large greens that slope severely, and numerous bump and run shots. The designers added a few original touches, such as the descriptive Scottish names for each hole (the 18th is called "Hame" for the home hole).
Another interesting design twist involved placing the signature hole as the opener. Playing 504 yards to a par 5, no. 1 is best attacked with an iron into the left side of a sloping, tree-lined fairway. The creek cuts into the landing area, making it a testy tee shot. The second shot must bend around the dogleg to the left and over the creek, and the approach is into the green shaded by large trees on the right.

I played with my Grandson who is 13 and in the the 7th grade. He shot a 95. His best round has been an 88. at his home course at Avery Ranch. He is an avid golfer and wants to com back and play the course again. He feels DS is more challenging than his course. He also absolutely loved your cheeseburgers. We will be back
Nice staff, laid out well
Everyone at the course was kind, especially since this was the first time my kids were on the course. We didn't really feel rushed, and the Marshal came out and was nice enough to tell us about the black/white tee for par 4s (I'm sure it helped with our pace as well)

Delaware Springs: Take 2
It's been 7 years since i first reviewed this course. It's probably been 5 since i played it. Seemed like it was about time to get back out there.
This course punches way above its weight. It's a humble course in the middle of the country, but it's been featured in some pretty heady golf architecture circles. Rightfully so, as this is the kind of hidden gem everyone wants bragging rights to.
On this day, the course was playing fast! Strategy off the tee is key with the amount of roll out in the fairways. Most holes aren't overly tight off the tee, but there is trouble waiting if you pick the wrong line. Driver isn't always the answer. The greens were in fantastic shape: rolling true and fast enough to offer some real defense even on the more scorable holes.
I love this course because it is fun. There is certainly a strategic element, and it gives you opportunities to take chances. There are multiple shorter par 4s and most of the par 5s are reachable (especially when the course is playing so fast)... but you are taking a risk being aggressive. Few things are as rewarding as cashing in on a big bet!
The terrain is largely flat, but not level. The natural contours are what I imagine makes links courses so famously appealing. Maybe this course is a little bit of Scotland right in the heart of Texas.
This course will accommodate any skill level. Many folks seem to be locals and it's friendly atmosphere. It's not a course for walking, but when it's nearly 100 degrees out that's probably for the best.
Take a drive out the Burnet and enjoy this course for yourself.

Great course in a beautiful area
Played at 9 am. Didn’t play too well, but enjoyed the course, the staff and the pace of play. It was a bit of a hike, but a scenic course nonetheless. Already told some friends about it and can’t wait to play it again.

Little bit of a drive from northwest Austin, but a nice option while Austin municipal courses are closed. Greens and fairways are in great shape. Friendly staff.

Despite surrounding area getting extremely dry the fairways and greens are in great shape.

What has happened to you green fees!
I love this course, have played it for years. Stopped bringing my guys on weekends because it was over $45.
I always try to bring a group up during the weekdays now I see the Golfnow rate is $48 for a Wednesday at 730am. Sorry guys I love Delaware but you are pricing us outta you course.

ABSOLUTELY UNFORGIVING & FUN
I traveled an hour from Fort Hood to play Delaware Springs. I found them on GolfNow and made a reservation for my usual foursome. I have never been a fan of municipal courses due to their poor conditions, ratty clubhouses and smelly bathrooms, not to mention, their bad attitudes to non-locals. The staff was very friendly welcoming. The starter gave us the local course knowledge and the warning about the snakes in the area. Much appreciated and thank you! The course was in wonderful condition- tee box, fairways and greens. All in great shape in the hot weather that we’ve been experiencing. The course is tight. There is no where to bail out on a mosh it shot. Accuracy and not distance is your friend. We will be

Fun and challenging
Love this course. Little slow this day, but rain delay in the morning backed everyone up. It was cart path only due to rain which does not bode well with some older players that don’t walk well. (The foursome in front of us) Course Is a challenge with changing winds. Fairways a bit tight with trees as well as trees in the middle of fairway on some. Plan your shots to allow the next shot. Greens in great shape. Staff at 19th hole was awesome. Others were friendly and courteous across the property

CPO< and some fairways were still wet from morning rain. Free ball wash on 12 when ball landed in a hole full of water. Fun day though; wife and I love this course and on CPO day it plays fast (3 hrs CPO is quick).
