About
Named after the springs that snake through the layout, Delaware Springs Golf Course is a scenic links-style track that is one of the better values in Texas golf. The low prices and friendly service, combined with a picturesque and challenging golf course, make this a Hill Country favorite.
Architects Dave Axland and Dan Proctor built a natural-looking course that fits the terrain perfectly. The course is nestled into the rolling hills and oak trees along the Highland Lakes, playing 6,891 yards from the tips. During your round you’ll encounter lush fairways frequently loaded with bunkers, large greens that slope severely, and numerous bump and run shots. The designers added a few original touches, such as the descriptive Scottish names for each hole (the 18th is called "Hame" for the home hole).
Another interesting design twist involved placing the signature hole as the opener. Playing 504 yards to a par 5, no. 1 is best attacked with an iron into the left side of a sloping, tree-lined fairway. The creek cuts into the landing area, making it a testy tee shot. The second shot must bend around the dogleg to the left and over the creek, and the approach is into the green shaded by large trees on the right.

Diamond in the Hills
Playing this course is a very enjoyable experience. The greens are immaculate and generally fast but fair. The fairways are generous and beautiful. The rough is very rough. I love the design. The greens are not too elevated providing you options to pitch and run or put some backspin on it. The course has good risk/reward options. The staff is wonderful. The prices are very fair. I'm a senior, I walk and play during the twilight hours and pay only $15 for 18 holes - you can't beat that. The course is generally not too crowded especially if you play during the week.

Really Nice
Arrived at 815 for 830 tee time and by 8:20 had cart, coffee, and clubs ready for round. Friendly starters that didn’t harass you for your receipt if you didn’t have it and knew my name as I drove up!
Fairways and greens have to be hit to score. Trees are tough to get out of and usually make you play straight back out. Greens roll Perfect! Man they were really nice and the sand I’n every bunker is nice like Destin Florida beach.

Great course
What a pleasant surprise! Played this course based on reviews while visiting the area. This is one of the best courses I have ever been on. The greens were fast but true and the fairways were awesome. Lots of wildlife and beautiful scenery. Nice pro shop. The price was an unbelievable value. Will definitely play this course a few times a year now. Cant stress enough how great shape this course is in!

We were greeted and showed the carts to load up our clubs. My nephew from Alaska was playing for his first time here and he enjoyed it so much he wants to come back, which we will probably do. He had to have a few items to take home and the sale rack had just the thing!!

Lush even in June
I was pleasantly surprised by the condition of Delaware Springs, a course I had not played in a few years. The fairways were lush and the greens were smooth. Even the traps were manicured and very consistent. I enjoyed the round and would play there again in a heartbeat.

5 Hour Plus Round
staff put us (a twosome ) behind several foursomes. These guys were obviously local players who did not care they were shooting over 120. I saw Marshal once but I don’t think he tried to help. Took us almost 2.5 hours to play front nine. Stopped for burger at club to hopefully let the slow group get far enough ahead. Lunch took easily 30 minutes to arrive, then order was wrong.
Back in the course we made it three holes before catching up to traffic again. Again no marshal in sight.
It rained briefly in the morning so the greens were actually holding fairly well. Course is in good shape. Just need the Marshals (staff) to enforce pace of play. Locals need to respect and allow others to play thru.

For a muni course it is always in great shape.
If you like to play with fast greens and lots of trees then this is the course for you. I play it about twice a month because it is such a good course.

great course but pace of play very painful
I accept that playing as a single gives me 'no standing' on the course and I understand that there is no point in letting me play through if there is nowhere for me to go but I wish marshalls at most courses would try to address the problem instead of driving around the course time and time again saying nothing to people playing non-'ready golf'. The foursome I was behind had a very high-opinion of their own game playing off the back tees and spraying balls all over the course, they sprayed 2 balls into the roughs on a par 3 and 2 of them went in search of while the other 2 chatted about the weather, and god knows what else except getting ready to putt, when the other 2 hit on they then proceeded to assess their putts. All 4 then putted out , stood around and marked their cards followed by a casual meander back to the cart. All of this while I'm standing on the tee ready to hit on.Its been a long time since I've encountered a marshall that is effective.

Top choice
My all time favorite in the state of Texas. Fairways are tour quality, greens are large and roll true. Beautiful hill country rough is kept natural with lots of wildlife watching each shot. Wish I lived closer.
