About
The Lago Vista Course is Lago Vista resort’s original track, designed by Leon Howard in the late 1960s and renovated by Dave Bennett in 1992. The golf course has four water holes, more than 40 bunkers, and dramatic elevation changes of up to 100 feet. Lago Vista is known for its demanding par 3s, which all go right at 200 yards. No. 10 is fun because it can be reached in two: a 495-yard par 5 with a creek that looms right.
Getting to Lago Vista: From Austin, take Hwy. 183 north to FM 1431, then turn west 11 miles. When you come to Lohmas Ford Rd. turn left and drive 3 miles, then turn right on Boggy Ford R. Veer to the right and follow the signs to the golf course.

Greens were in terrible shape. Should have been told before playing.

Fairways were in good shape. EVERY green was TRASH. Not worth 30 bucks to play here

Greens are toast
The greens throughout the course are in very bad condition. They are full of sand and the grass that is there is uneven.

Poor greens
Every green was. In terrible condition no grass, lots of sand.

Worst conditions ever
Played here 5 years ago and course was great. Now, fairways and tee boxes are cow pastures. Greens are unplayable. They should have been embarrassed to charge for people to play there. Only the starter told us on the first tee how bad it would be and he was right.

Greens
Greens need a little more attention due to having to much sand

Not golf
This used to be a great course all around and now has taken a turn for the worst last couple years, this place is looking like the one down the street- not good! Worst greens I've ever seen you can't even putt so basically you're not able to play golf at that point. They obviously don't care for this course at all, in terrible condition and now is definitely the worst course in the Austin area! Lago Vista golf course you should be ashamed!

Save your money
Beautiful views and cool layout is about all you are gonna get. Leave the putter in your car not worth trying with the bunkers they call greens. Seriously if you think I’m being dramatic I’m not. Don’t make the mistake I made and actually read the reviews. Do not go play here go anywhere else in the Austin area.

Dirt for greens
This course just needs to close down. The greens literally have no grass on them, so you are putting on dirt. They look like the infield of a cow pasture baseball field. We were not told about the poor condition of the greens when we checked in. After the first 3 holes we gave up on putting. We quit after playing 9 holes. I would be embarrassed to let anyone play on this course if I was the management. I should have known there was a problem when we paid $20.00 for the round. Overall, this course is poorly maintained. Very disappointing golf outing.

The greens have sand traps
The only course I’ve been to where I had to putt through the beach to get to the hole. I can’t really call them greens. More like the browns.

Beautiful Course
Staff was amazing, course was not difficult but fun and beautiful. DEER EVERYWHERE!! Not being able to bring your own cooler sucked but over all great!

Poor greens
The greens need some serious work. There were large areas of sand throughout the front nine greens which sucks because the course layout is quite nice and I believe this course has good potential.

Greens are awful
Apparently there is a water issue, because the course (greens included) is not being watered. Most greens had more sand than grass. Quite possible the worse course I’ve ever played. Very disappointed that I was not told about the poor condition before booking. Will never return to this course.

Greens are basically bunkers. Awful conditions
This could be a great course. It’s got very interesting hole layouts and features. But man do they not keep up with this thing. The greens have literal sand pits in them. You can’t even tell where there fairway ends and the green begins.

What happened?
What happened? That is the question I'm asking. I'm not sure why the course was so bad to play on. The grass was mostly dead and the greens were REALLY BAD!!!! I have played this course many times in the past and NEVER have seen it like that before. I feel that the whole golf facility needs a remake/make over. The carts are worn down and the courses are not properly maintained. So, this is why my review gives it a Poor rating.
