About
The Lago Vista Course is Lago Vista resort’s original track, designed by Leon Howard in the late 1960s and renovated by Dave Bennett in 1992. The golf course has four water holes, more than 40 bunkers, and dramatic elevation changes of up to 100 feet. Lago Vista is known for its demanding par 3s, which all go right at 200 yards. No. 10 is fun because it can be reached in two: a 495-yard par 5 with a creek that looms right.
Getting to Lago Vista: From Austin, take Hwy. 183 north to FM 1431, then turn west 11 miles. When you come to Lohmas Ford Rd. turn left and drive 3 miles, then turn right on Boggy Ford R. Veer to the right and follow the signs to the golf course.

Could be really nice....
Great layout but needs a ton of upkeep. Greens are horrible. Disappointing to see a potentially nice course wasted. Not worth the price they charge.

Ok course
Very disapointed with the condition of the greens the rest of the course was ok but the greens made for a tough round

Course is in HORRIBLE condition
There are no greens here - I would classify them as flat areas, the fairways are in better shape. This course should shut down for a couple months to rehab their greens, they're using sand to fill in massive divots on what's left of the greens, which they should be called browns. The clubhouse is nice and lady behind counter and cook are nice, guy checking people in was nice. They really shouldn't charge anything for playing this course though, it's in pretty rough shape.

Fun Little Course in Tragic Condition
This actually a fun little course. It's not very long, and many holes give you a nice opportunity to think about shot placement. It's not fourteen driver holes and four 8-iron par 3's. I enjoy differing strategies as I progress through a course, and found myself using driver maybe half the time. This course has great terrain, and beautiful views. The clubhouse is also quite pleasant, as was the service there. The tragedy here is this course has apparently still not recovered from the February 2021 freeze, like many other courses in the Austin area. It's a real shame, as the greens in many cases have patches of bare sand, and mostly sparse areas of wispy dead grass, with little spider blossoms to deflect your putts as they pachinko toward the hole. If they could get this course back in shape, it would be a nice little gem.

Horrible condition
I have played this course multiple times in the past and I’ve always enjoyed it. This time around the course was in horrible condition, the greens had little tiny sand traps all through the them, rough and lots of holes. Made putting impossible. Tee boxes were also very uneven. Always enjoy going out to this course to enjoy the scenery and have a good game of golf with some friends. Just wish they took care of it better.

My wife and I played this course for the first time. Course layout was outstanding. and had elevation changes(hill country) Tee Boxes had little to no grass. Greens were atrocious on the front nine. Back nine were somewhat better. Course could be excellent if they could get some grass on the greens and tee boxes, add sand to bunkers and overseed with rye in the winter months.

I live on the course and appreciate the course well groomed but I have had 2 broken windows from
The groups that hit from the tips that are horrible golfers and drive the crap out the carts with no
Marshal in sight. I spoke with the manager about my broken windows and did no get an answer
Back. No good since I am well connected to many members and courses that will no play or set
Up tournaments.
