About
The Lago Vista Course is Lago Vista resort’s original track, designed by Leon Howard in the late 1960s and renovated by Dave Bennett in 1992. The golf course has four water holes, more than 40 bunkers, and dramatic elevation changes of up to 100 feet. Lago Vista is known for its demanding par 3s, which all go right at 200 yards. No. 10 is fun because it can be reached in two: a 495-yard par 5 with a creek that looms right.
Getting to Lago Vista: From Austin, take Hwy. 183 north to FM 1431, then turn west 11 miles. When you come to Lohmas Ford Rd. turn left and drive 3 miles, then turn right on Boggy Ford R. Veer to the right and follow the signs to the golf course.

FYI,
I live on the course and appreciate the course well groomed but I have had 2 broken windows from
The groups that hit from the tips that are horrible golfers and drive the crap out the carts with no
Marshal in sight. I spoke with the manager about my broken windows and did no get an answer
Back. No good since I am well connected to many members and courses that will no play or set
Up tournaments.

Gone down hill
I’ve played this course for 15 years. It is in the worst condition I’ve seen in the entire 15 years. I understand the challenge of the record freeze in Feb., but all of the area experienced these same weather conditions, and most currently have much better green conditions.
The grounds keeping management has gone down hill irregardless of the weather conditions. I played with a group in July after heavy rains two weeks previous, but no rain in the last seven days. The fairways were dry but un-mowed with , 4-6” deep grass approaching the greens. Besides staying in the fairway
, each in our party lost 8-12 balls in the middle of the fairway often a wedge shot from the greens.
We had planned on playing 3 days in a row but cancelled and went to Cedar Park, where we found a well groomed course with minimal green damage.
It’s so sad to see such a lovely and fun course go downhill so significantly.

Wonderful Course and Excellent Staff
I have not been met by friendlier and more accommodating staff at a golf course in my entire life. The staff here at Lago Vista Country Club are simply the best. The course if coming to a place of being fantastic. It is better every time I play. Lago Vista has truly become my favorite golf course of all time.

Lago vista golf course
Friendly staff and a good value. The layout was challenging but not extremely hard. The greens are in very bad shape and that is the reason I would not recommend this course at this time. We’ll try again in the spring.

Extremely Overpriced for Condition
Layout decent. If it’s your first time playing, have pro shop write out the directions for the turn, as you will get lost. Course as a whole was in awful shape. Many greens seem to have bunkers, some fairways not mowed, maintenance crew was seen just cruising around instead of taking care of the course. Members don’t seem to care about pace of play, nor do the rangers. The carts were also in extremely rough shape. Our cart’s front wheels were so bowed we thought one of the wheels was going to pop off. Beers are cold, hot dogs were good from the cart girl, but A’s seems to be the case with this course, extremely overpriced. Buyer beware.

Beautiful course. Don’t bother playing the greens. Just add strokes as appropriate based on your approach shot. Greens are in desperate need of management and TLC.

Almost our home course
My wife and I are weekend golfers and play Lago Vista more than any other course. The layout is fun and challenging for us and Sunday afternoons have proven to be a good time to play without being rushed or held back by slower players. We like the front 9 more than the bacside.
