Lago Vista Golf Course

The greens were in terrible shape. I was not informed at the pro shop when I checked in.

Some of the greens were liking putting on the moon, If you dont mind hitting to the green and not putting it is a good course. They did offer us unlimited holes that day because of the condition of the greens.

While I was playing it started to rain and was very windy as well. The course refused to provide a rain check. The reason given was that i have purchased the round through GolfNow website.

Recommend not to book this course if there is any chance of rain

Greens are like putting in a sand trap.

Marshall very strict with 90 degree rule.

Was given a lesson on 90 degree rule on hole #1. Two of us playing, one ball went 100ft farther. Was told to return to cart path then back to other ball which is flat stupid. Been playing golf for 50 years and never experienced this type of ridicule. This place needs to close.

Terrible conditions. Greens unplayable. No grass, huge algae problem, greens have massive patches cut out and just installed sand, no grass.. Won't go back.

We could only actually play two greens on the whole course. Most had sand divots and potholes, all were brown. The rest of the course was really pretty and nice. We played the 2 putt max rule the entire course because the greens were that unplayable..

Horrible greens 17 out of 18 had sand traps inside the greens. Not fun at all...

We referred to the greens as browns due to the color of the dead grass covering the putting surface. And there were patches of sand on them to add to the distress. But Old Tom Morris played on worse, so why waste time complaining? The upside was the course was nearly deserted and we played unobstructed. And the layout is really fun, with rolling hills, elevation changes, and old trees and streams. Also, we could see the repair work for the greenside sprinkler system underway, so next year Lago Vista's face-lift should restore her natural beauty.

I told myself three years ago I'd never go back, but my two buddies wanted to go get in 9 holes around 2 pm yesterday. This course is a joke. Well, let me restate...the course conditions are a joke. The course itself "could be" incredible. Interesting layout, although a couple of the greens are ridiculously designed, and a great topography. It's just laughable that 98% of the greens have literal "bunkers" in them. I don't mean sand on them, I mean 4 - 5 in deep holes in the surface with sand or dirt in them. How hard is it to take a few 2'x3' strips of sod, fill in the ditches on the greens, and lay down some new sod over these atrocities? I know I would much rather putt over a surface that is at least somewhat level and on grass, versus having to putt through huge cavities in the greens The City of Lago Vista should be ashamed of this!. I understand we had a drought and a couple of freezes in the last two years, but this has been an issue for at least 8 years that I've lived here. And the weather affected every other golf course in the area and yet they've managed to fully recover. To think that they actually charge people full price is absurd. What's absurd is that people are willing to pay that amount. We booked it through Golfnow and paid $25.00 each and that was too much,

Beautiful layout marred by horrible course conditions. There are sand traps on the green, tee box and fairways not maintained. You’re better off playing a muni. Don’t waste your money and time going out there.

On the plus side, the staff was friendly and all clubhouse items were 40% off.

Used golf now because the course website was 48 dollars a green fee. Golf now has hot deal for 25 a green fee. Staff was very nice. Course layout was pretty nice and challenging. Greens were absolutely horrible! Maybe 1 or 2 that were even worth putting on. Whoever gets paid to take care of this course should find another profession. Gps on carts was way outdated. Told me I was in a restricted area when I was on the cart path. Although we were here for 5 days for a little vacation at the villas, next time we come down I will drive a hour to go play a decent course. Fix the greens!!!!

Fairways are really bad. Greens are unplayable! Most of them have large indentions filled with sand. It’s a shame because it’s a fun course layout.

Greens and fairways were in very bad shape. Large patches without any grass, water damage, and sand potholes on the greens.

Enjoyed the course and pace of play. The greens were healthy and well maintained (only played the back 9). Only drawback was the lack of food/drink options from the beverage cart.
