Best the greens have been in years. There’s no saying they’ll stay like this for long, but if you have time to get a round in before the winter weather hits the area, do it!

Played a round with my sons and we had a great time. Course was in great condition and the pace was excellent for a Saturday. Recommend this course highly.

At first, I was slightly underwhelmed by the front 9 - i thought the 6th hole with elevated tees was nice - until I got to the Par 3 on the 8th. One of the most enjoyable holes I’ve ever played. We don’t have many hills in the state I live in, so this was a really nice change of pace. Back 9 was absolutely gorgeous and I’m sure it was elevated even more by the fall foliage.

Greens played quick, fairways were manicured well, roughs weren’t too deep that I wasn’t losing balls left and right — overall, a really nice course. Pace of play got a little choppy at times, really my lone complaint

This is one of the nicest golf courses in the area. They have a great superintendent! The only drawback is the sand traps need some work and more sand other than that great place to play

We were going to play 18 holes, but when we got to the turn (10) hole, there was a back up. Wasn't sure where these other golfer came from, so went in and asked if we could play the front nine again, but was told a couple of high schools just tee off. Then we were told a group of 4 jump in the back nine and he was sorry about that. Turns out it was 5 players in that group. We asked for a rain check and they gave us one, But that should never happened. The course was in good shape and we enjoy playing there, but please get a ranger out on the course.

Gave it one more shot and it failed. Course was in better condition, but pace of play is still an issue. No enforcement. Barely anybody actually working at the course in general. Saw one guy in the pro shop. One starter in the parking lot driving around. That’s it. Played at 3:50pm on a Monday. Front 9 was great. No issues. Back 9 I was waiting on every single hole because high school golfers were out playing like they were in the Masters tournament. Other groups joining up to have 3 carts and five players. Can’t really understand the lack of actual presence/enforcement from staff. Done driving 30 min to play this course.

I thought this course was fabulous for a public course. Pace of play was God awful, but a playing partner said it was “unusually slow.” I’ll chalk it up to the group in front of us, not the course. Greens were in great shape and the layout was nice. Mix mix of challenging and scoring holes.

First time playing Elks Run but just had horrible weather this round. The layout and changes in elevation make the course really fun. Only negative were some of the tee boxes have taken a beating but assuming that’s based on volume of play.

Paid for 18 holes. Only played 12 holes because the group of 4 way ahead of us wouldn’t let the single ahead of our 2 play ahead. They were taking probably 20 minutes per hole by the time we caught up to them.

Course is in excellent shape. Staff is friendly and equipment is well kept. I am puzzled why they close the clubhouse so early and while there are still groupds on the course. We finished Saturday at 8:30 and there were still several groups behind us but the clubhouse was closed?

It would have been nice to get a cold beverage and use the restroom.

It also makes you wonder what if something happened to someone and there was no one there?

This course could be beautiful, but there’s a lack of care and maintenance across the entire course. Some parts of fairways are completely dead or just dirt at this point. Tee boxes are is very bad shape full of weeds and not the right kind of grass. Half the bunkers aren’t raked and are hard. And on top of that, pace of play isn’t enforced. There aren’t any rangers out on the course and so there we’re old guys who couldn’t hit the ball further than 100 yards off the tee playing from the blues and taking forever, hillbillies yelling curse words at each other and blasting their music with no regard to anyone else on the course, etc. We had to wait at least 3-5 min on every single tee box to hit and it was super frustrating. In summary, play this course for their good twilight deals. It’s not worth $62+ or whatever it was for a weekend morning round.
