Good layout

Course just aerated greens the day before and back nine was closed. But liked the layout there were some challenging holes on the front. Cart girl was timely with drinks and nice. Hope to try to play again when conditions are better

KIVA DUNES DELIVERS AGAIN

Returned to Kiva Dunes for our annual guys trip and once again the course, staff, food and accomodations were perfect. Once on property, you won''t need to leave until it is time to go home. We had four unique dinners including steak, seafood and even pizza night. A group dinner at the new Kiva Beach Club is a great way to end the day. The golf course was in great shape and the greens were as fast as we had ever seen them and smooth as glass. We had a big rain storm late one afternoon and the course was dry the next day. Other courses in the area stay wet and cart path only. Not Kiva. Links golf on links land. I am going back in a couple of weeks and can't wait. One of kind place to stay and play.

Pricey

Rack rate of $122 - $145 is a little steep for this course. I was able to snag a $95 early morning rate on GolfNow. I think that was a reasonable rate for this course. I can’t believe it is the #1 rated Alabama course. It is a good resort style layout. Wide fairways, generous greens, excellent bunkers but kind of ho hum layout. Would play again with a discounted rate.

Awesome

Played this course on vacation to Orange Beach. I am more than pleased with this course. Beautiful layout, fast greens, and some water hazards. I loved it.

If you're there play it but don't go out of your way

The day started very interesting as I saw a nice large Rodent by the trash can. Girls behind the counter were not all that friendly but the starter was. Course layout was very underwhelming. Just nothing memorable about the course and def not the number 1 public course in the state of ALA.

Great Course

Played Kiva Dunes as part of a weekend trip to AL. The course exceeded expectations and was excellent in every way. Condition was fantastic for March and no issues with pace of play for an afternoon round. This course is a must play if you are in the area and a nice alternative to some of the RTJ trail courses.

Great course

Although the weather in January and February is hit and miss, we did get some sun and calm days. The day was a little cool but the course was in great shape for that time of the year. The fairways are narrow with lots of water. The greens were fast, which is common of winter golf. Overall, a fun course to play. Wii definitely come back

We come down and play 5 tracks every week for 6 weeks. Kiva always no. 1. Straight layout and fair multiple tees. Greens fast and true.

One of the best

A beautiful course, with great conditions, including true greens. Drains especially well, so after rain, this is still a course that can be played.

Very nice

Shot 107 a little bit high for this beginner but I shot par on last 3 par 3’s. Greens were fast hard and huge. I think for a beginner the course is awesome. Was able to land in fairways with my bad slice. Overall great time.

Glad We Played - Overall Fun Course

This was my cousin and my second round of the week in Gulf Shores and decided to play Kiva Dunes after reading and hearing great reviews of the course. Is it worth the price? Sure. Paid through GolfNow and received a better deal than the clubhouse was offering. Was paired with another twosome which was fine, but wasn't necessary with the amount of players on the course. Greens were super quick and large which was fun to play. Some hole locations were a little difficult and close to unfair for approach shots. Must play well off the tee in order to score well or holes can be long and difficult. Cart girls weren't around as often as they could have been which was a bummer since there isn't a true "turn" for snacks and drinks. Will play this course again, but wasn't overly impressed. Shot an 80 with a 38-42.

Great Course

I played alone. Bag Drop guys were great and accommodating, met me at my car with the cart. Friendly at check-in. Starter did everything he could to pair me up. I did not work. Four different groups let me play through.

Greens were fast. Greens were deceiving in depth and contour. Would love to play it again.

The 13th par three was amazingly deceptive from tee box.

Firm, Fast, Challenging

I played this course on 10/8/18, two days before Hurricane Michael made landfall about 140 miles to the east. The conditions were mostly sunny and WINDY. 9 of the holes on this course are laid out east to west; the other 9, west to east. The course is very challenging, and when hitting into the wind, very difficult.

The Bermuda grass greens were firm and fast, running about 11 on the stimpmeter (per the staff). The fairways are plush. This golf club very much has a country club feel to it. There is plenty of sand and water, so bring your A game. Fortunately there are several sets of tees from which to chose, so that a player can select based on their handicap.
