About
Ironwood Golf Club has the distinction of being named one of Golf Digest's "Best Places to Play." Owned by the city of Gainesville, this popular course hosts more than 50 tournaments year. The course winds through a scenic landscape covered with century-old pines and sparkling lakes. Don't be surprised if you're joined by the wildlife that calls the course home, which includes deer and wild turkeys. The layout will keep you guessing with interesting twists and turns. The elevated greens have dramatic drops from front to back, making them a challenge to read. There are strategically placed bunkers throughout Ironwood Golf Club, as well as thick rough along the fairways. The obstacles combined with some tricky doglegs will make you think twice about swinging the driver too freely. Strategy, not strength, is the key to doing well on this course.

Pretty good course. Will play again.
Course was pretty good. Overall condition was good. Only downfall was many of the greens were in poor condition and lumpy and inconsistent. Other than that awesome horse would definitely play again.

Visiting Gainesville and wanted to get out for a round, someone who will go nameless recommended Ironwood.
Nice staff, reasonable price, nice layout, the conditions sucked. Greens were slow, inconsistent, and a fair number disease ridden.
In Florida and no sand in the traps.. No rakes, fix the traps "with your feet", as if golfers need an excuse not to repair already.
Wouldn't ay there if it were free.

Ironwood needs a little attention
The course was somewhat rough. Lots of bare spots on the fairways and greens. Great staff! Nice people!

Greens are horrible. Cow pastures. Don’t pay over 15 dollars to play this course.

Worst condition I have seen this course in years. Staff was not friendly, Ranger was a ^%$#@ Won't be back !!
The greens are a little rough right now
I played the course about a month ago and the greens were pretty good. Just in the last few weeks it’s like they lost a lot of the grass on them. I feel like greens make or break a golf course and with the condition these greens are in right now you’re not truly getting your money’s worth.

Greens need major repairs
I play this course a decent amount and this was by far the worse condition wise I have seen it. The greens are in severely bad shape possibly some too far gone and will need full on repair. Staff friendly as well as all the cart girls who are always nice. Need to really get a hold on the condition aspect of the course.

First Time
I booked thru GOLFNOW hot deals. I joined a twosome who play Ironwood regularly. Course was very busy yet play was not slow. Everything was OK accept the greens. Beverage cart cycled regularly. Carts were in good shape with USB.
