Gary Panks designed Aliante Golf Club to be player friendly rather than score crushing. It is supposed to be a Las Vegas golf version of Cheers.

Everyone may not know your name, but there is a huge practice facility, good clubhouse digs to kick back in and most of all a 7,022-yard layout that does not play nearly as fearsome as its 139-slope rating would indicate.

Which doesn't mean there isn't plenty of variety. With 54 bunkers, 14 bridges, four ponds and two waterfalls, about all Aliante is missing is a kitchen sink on a par 5.

"Aliante is a little out of the way, but it was well worth the trip," Todd Dewey wrote in TravelGolf.com. "It was a bit surreal to be playing in a picturesque setting in that part of town and the fast pace of play made it even more enjoyable. There was absolutely no waiting."

Good conditions

Greta shape. Pace was a challenge. Waited on every tee box. And every approach shot. Sometimes stacked two groups deep. Took 3 hours on the back. Yikes. Great shape though.

Fun course but slow pace

We started 10 minutes late because a group was in the bar. By the time we got through nine we had already been there 2 1/2 hours. Other than that the course was in pretty good condition and the beer cart guy was very friendly.

Great Views, Slow Play

This course has some of the greatest views you can get in Vegas. It was also in decent shape. I think there were a lot of walk-ons because their tee times showed the afternoon wide open. They don’t really adjust those open slots for the walk-ons so the course was full and slow even though their tee times online showed differently. Because of that, the pace of play was pretty slow. We had to rush through the last couple holes to make sure we were able to finish before sunset. I stopped looking at the clock when we hit 5 hours of play and still weren’t done.

Great Course and Staff

This course is worth the visit. Staff was courteous and attentive. Of course, was in rare form. Challenging fairways, and exceptionally responsive greens. I recommend it to anyone who visits Las Vegas.

Good course for the money.

Greens were being airified but still rolled pretty well. Layout is really fair, but watch out for the sneaky hazards in the fairway that you can’t see from the tee.

It’s amazing what conditions and lack of organization can do to a course…

Spicy first off I think the course is a very good layout. It was a great test and fun to play… Unfortunately, all the greens were popped which that was not communicated and the way they organized their teetimes was completely atrocious. We teed off 30 minutes after our original teatime, which was at 7:58 and the groups in front of us by the end of the round all had at least a hole to a hole and a half in front of them so there was no ranger out there, helping us move. It took four hours to play 14 holes and we had to leave abruptly.

Excellent but SLOW

The staff is phenomenal. Course is excellent! They need a course Marshal as we were the 4th group behind extremely slow player. Our round of golf took 5.5 hours.

Ran Out Of Carts??

Our tee time was pushed back 45 minutes because they didn’t have enough carts for everyone? I have never seen such a poorly ran place before. 6 groups ahead of us waiting to get carts. Couldn’t even finish my round because of that and slow pace of play. Not a ranger in sight anywhere, probably because they don’t have a cart for them?

Slow day

Very slow pace as usual here. Over 5 hours. Fairways and greens were in good condition, but tee boxes have seen better days.
