Gary Panks designed Aliante Golf Club to be player friendly rather than score crushing. It is supposed to be a Las Vegas golf version of Cheers.

Everyone may not know your name, but there is a huge practice facility, good clubhouse digs to kick back in and most of all a 7,022-yard layout that does not play nearly as fearsome as its 139-slope rating would indicate.

Which doesn't mean there isn't plenty of variety. With 54 bunkers, 14 bridges, four ponds and two waterfalls, about all Aliante is missing is a kitchen sink on a par 5.

"Aliante is a little out of the way, but it was well worth the trip," Todd Dewey wrote in TravelGolf.com. "It was a bit surreal to be playing in a picturesque setting in that part of town and the fast pace of play made it even more enjoyable. There was absolutely no waiting."

Hidden Gem

Friendly fairways and greens. Not a difficult course but challenging enough for an intermediate golfer. Given the time of year (Mid August), the course was in very good shape. A few areas that needed some TLC but overall nice. Would have been nice to have a cart person for beverage options since it was 105 degrees but we managed without one. The service and food at the restaurant were also good.

Gold day

Was a nice course on a hot day. Was my second of 5 golf days that week at 4 different courses. I will rank it 2nd behind Mountain Falls in Pahrump for the week.

New courses to play

While close to home, I've never played Aliante and overall, it was great. A few greens were not in the best shape, but the efforts are there to mend them. The cart girl was visiting every 4 holes and kept us hydrated with some slow play ahead of us. I will be back.

Great golf course.

First thing that stands out is the cart pickup right next to the clubhouse. Then the driving range right in front of the clubhouse house as well. Love it.The design and layout is awsome, going through different nice neighborhoods, the fairways and greens are in excellent shape and feel amazing. The back nine is definitely better than the first nine. But will definitely be going back specially with the North Las Vegas locals deals.

Not too bad for condition

This course was better than I expected. Green bunkers were good sand. Fairway bunkers were a lot firmer. Good grass and good fast greens. Downside was I was told water on course. 1 jug front 9 without cups. 2 on back 9. Luckily I had Yetti and got ice from cocktail lady. 5 hour round but for Saturday and paired up with 2 others that used mulligans at every tee box slowed us down. At times though we caught group in front. Played white tees and plenty long for an old guy. I would play again during the week when you would do it in 4 1/2 hours and bring my own water jug.

5 hour round on a Monday morning. Some large rocks in some traps. Good course layout. A couple of greens need some attention.

It’s a good deal if you’re a local

I don’t know that I’d pay $125 to play it again as a non-local great price for residence. I believe their price is like $65. Course is an OK shape not great.

Overall an average course

First time playing here. All staff we encountered were nice from clubhouse to the starter. I don't recall seeing any marshals on course.

We were hooked up with a father/son twosome from NC. They were both very nice and enjoyed playing with them. Both were more on the beginner level but they kept the pace moving and no issues with pace of play.

The course did have a NV resident rate and not limited to Clark county, so appreciated that and was able to get a better rate than the rack rate. Course conditions were sub-optimal. Lots of dry areas on the fairways; greens were okay but a bit slow; bunkers were hardpan dirt - no sand. This is desert golf, so not totally inexpected, but this is suppose to be "high" golf season in Vegas so was wxpecting somewhat beter conditions.

Overall a fun round. Would play here again but would have to be a better rate.

Overall enjoyed our round due to mosly the company.

Weekend Golfer

Staff was very nice. Course layout was great, but the conditions were below par. Dry fairways. Overpriced for the conditions. Clubhouse menue and food was just average. Will not be returning unless I can get a better price and more upkeep from the greens keeper.
