About
One of the pioneers in Las Vegas golf, Painted Desert Golf Course is a 1987 Jay Morrish design has golfers shooting at targets in the desert.
Painted Desert has maintained its place in the Sin City golf community through all its changes by putting on an emphasis on course conditioning. Just because your greens are almost two decades old does not mean they cannot be in better shape than many of the new kids on the block.
The desert is the focus here, but Morrish also works in a few lakes as obstacles.
"This golf course is a very friendly layout and you can score here without having a feeling of imminent doom on every hole," John Scappatura said. "We are a bit off of the beaten path, which means that we almost always have availability for tee times. Everyone who does make the trip out here though appreciates our conditioning, the price, and the friendly atmosphere."

Extremely Friendly Staff
Played Painted Desert in the March heat. The young gentlemen at the desk was extremely friendly and helpful. The course is an fairly good shape. Great value for the money.

More Than I Expected - Had Fun
As promised, a true desert golf layout. Keep it in the fairways and you have decent grass and a very good round.
Fun and varied layout, greens were smooth and fast. Yes, as some reviews point out the tee boxes and bunkers need work. Many bunkers more of an aggregate, unfortunately.
Staff was welcoming and we played on a Friday morning with little or no waiting. Working my way around the valley, this was the 23rd different course I have played…and I would definitely come back.

Very dry!
Golfed course many years ago and was heartbroken at the overall condition of course. Still had fast greens, but could not hold a ball.

Not worth it !
Very disappointed in the condition of this course. it didn’t look like any maintenance had been done in quite a while,, tee boxes, bunkers all had not had any attention in several days. On top of that as a tourist I had to pay an additional $60 over the inflated rates these guys charge. I played with three locals who all commented that this used to be a very good course.

Need to have a marshal out there during peak hours. We had a 4 some behind us kept hitting into us (3some). Finally we found someone to go and tell the 4somes so hitting into us and wait, as we were waiting.

You need to be on the fairway otherwise you are hitting off rocks

Absolute disaster
3 hours for 9 holes is a joke! As usual Ithe course was overbooked and looking like crap. We were notified of a frost delay. I live down the street from the course . There wasn't cold enough temps for frost. We were lied to and there was zero effort to take responsibility. I will never play here again

This course is a must play. There was nothing that was good about this course since everything was EXCELLENT. This should be at least 4 1/2 stars. Staff was the best.

Great greens
I was I’m pressed with the short fast manicured greens for being in great shape this time of year. The fairways and roughs were cut a little short for me and sand traps had a lot of rocks in them . Not an easy course with all the sand traps and water features and a few very tight fairways. A lot of the tee boxes were real tore up and one had a huge hump throughout it. Other than that I would play it again soon!!

Disaster
There was a 4 some 2 some 2 some 1 some ahead of our 2 some 4.5 hrs to play
Waited every shot. Also course to long for women they need tee boxes in fairways always going thru gravel.

Disappointing Course
Today was my 5th day playing in Vegas. All of the courses that we have played have been exceptional until today. With narrow fairways and poor green conditions, it made it hard to give it a positive first impression. Being charged double for a mediocre course also was insulting. I will not recommend this course to anyone I know.
