Gary Panks designed Aliante Golf Club to be player friendly rather than score crushing. It is supposed to be a Las Vegas golf version of Cheers.

Everyone may not know your name, but there is a huge practice facility, good clubhouse digs to kick back in and most of all a 7,022-yard layout that does not play nearly as fearsome as its 139-slope rating would indicate.

Which doesn't mean there isn't plenty of variety. With 54 bunkers, 14 bridges, four ponds and two waterfalls, about all Aliante is missing is a kitchen sink on a par 5.

"Aliante is a little out of the way, but it was well worth the trip," Todd Dewey wrote in TravelGolf.com. "It was a bit surreal to be playing in a picturesque setting in that part of town and the fast pace of play made it even more enjoyable. There was absolutely no waiting."

Very Poor Conditions

It’s a shame this course is not taken care of. It has a great layout and potentially really nice holes. The course is beyond dry, the entire fairway, with the exception of the entrance to the green is completely brown. The practice tee is completely chewed up with virtually no grass to hit off of. Bunkers were hard as cement and made traditional bunker shots impossible. Staff is great, but the course was a major let down.

Great course!

Nice course. Forgiving, wide fairways. Challenging, but enjoyable.

Bad conditions

I understand it’s the difficult time of year for course conditions.... this was HORRIBLE!! The fairways are dead and patchy. Hard pan is the understatement of the year.

Sad really because the layout of the course is one of my favorites in town. Hopefully they can find the sprinkler system on switch here again soon!!

Decent course for the green fee

Greens are in fantastic condition—rolling smoother and looking better than any other course I’ve played in town. FAirways still dormant—were not over-seeded, apparently. Layout is a little vanilla—nothing noteworthy to set this course apart. No big elevation changes. Played as twosome in under 3 1/2 hrs, and rarely waited on twosome ahead.

Not a bad value

The driving range was a dog patch. No grass to hit off of and no yardage markers. The course itself was nice enough to play but the fairway green needed watering because it looked like hay.

Nice place to play and reasonable

Enjoyed the course with friends. Like everything about the course except spots of goose poop. View was OK due to dormant grass. Would play again.
