Silverthorn Country Club

Really enjoyed playing Silverthorn, staff is always great. One of my favorite courses in the Brooksville area. Greens were nice.

Greens were recently aerated. It will take a few weeks for the greens to heal. Tees and fairways have shown signs of improvement. Bunkers still need a lot of work. It’s the same ole “Silver Thorn”…just because you’re in the fairway or on the green, course conditions will cause a thorn in your game!

It was a hot day but the course was very light with golfers so everything went smoothly. The clubhouse staff and starters were very helpful. Saw he grounds crew working hard on the course.

I keep coming back to Silverthorne because the layout is good. But still waiting after 2 years for the tee boxes and fairways to be improved. The greens are in good condition but slow. The price is too high. Its May and prices still high. I would gladly pay more if the course conditions warrant it.

This course is in rough shape but the greens are nice. Pace of play was unrestricted as there were few golfers playing. This is not surprising considering they’re trying to charge $60 for a course that warrants green fees of $20. Tee time are like airplane seats after takeoff. Once the tee times passes unbooked the income is lost. Fairways, rough, tee boxes are all in rough shape and are browning up due to no rain and irrigation. I hope they turn this course around but it’s a real head scratcher how they are going about trying to accomplish this task. Will golf there again IF a $20 tee time is offered but it’s simply not worth the $60 green fees they’re currently asking for.

The staff and grounds crew have really stepped up these last 6 months getting the fairways, tee box and greens in better condition that 6 months ago when I played there. Still much to be done but heading in the right direction.

Well they are really doing a better job maintaining the greens and fairways from last year when I playing in November. Randy and Andy were very professional and helpful with my questions.

Played here last year and the grass was sparse bunkers had as much grass as sand tees and greens were a mess.

This week fairways had grass greens were true and traps cleaned. New management is trying to make it better. A lot of work done but it takes time

Front 9 has improved since last played. Back still has some pretty sorry fairways. Even a little water would help. They should lower price till it comes back to reasonable condition.

Greens were ok, but slow. Fairway and tee boxes were in poor condition. Course is not very well maintained. The layout is nice. It is a shame.
