Hernando Oaks Golf & Country Club

Big rolling fairways, multi level green complex’s, tricky bunker placemats, a golfers golf course. Not ONE dog leg right on the course but you can still shoot a good score with a fade. Greens were rolling 11ish and pure. Best sub-$70 course in several counties

The staff was nice and friendly. The layout is really nice to play. There were a few tee boxes that needed a little more grass. The sand traps were in very good shape and the greens were pretty quick. Overall, our group enjoyed the round. We'll be back again.

Check in was a breeze. Dude at counter charged me for 9 even though I booked for 18 at 2:45. He knew and appropriately charged knowing I wouldn't get in 18. Was told to be in by 5:30. 5:30 came and our 2 some had just finished the 9th. Course was in great shape other than the tee boxes, which to me is no big deal. Have played other courses for less money teeing off at 3:00 and have gotten in 13 or 14 holes. So, do you want to play 9 holes at a course in great shape or 13, 14 holes at a course in good shape for half the price?

I convinced my group to drive from St Pete to Brooksville to play this course. Everyone was impressed with the layout and we had a great time. The tee boxes could use some work, but everything else was in fantastic shape. The greens are challenging, sectioned, quick and roll true - be careful of the 6 footer coming back. I'd suggest spending some time on the practice green before teeing off. The grill is fairly simple, but the service was quick and the menu was large - offering lots of options for grub. The sandwich my buddy ordered was huge. Driving range available.

Nice layout - no soap and water in ball washers at all. New grass so they watered extensively causing mud areas and tire tracks. Greens are fast and nice. High roughs so its hard to find balls on some holes. Some tee boxes need TLC. I give it a C+ - it's ok.

The greens are the only good thing about the course. The tee boxes look like a driving rand after a tournament. The bunkers are actually water hazards. The fairways are soaked and muddy. They closed the range for maintenance right as I got there and no chipping on the practice green. It's worth about 2/3 of what they are charging. I'll try again next year.

Pros-The greens they hold nice & roll true. Also the layout keeps it interesting & Not a lot of houses close by.

Cons-turf management like most courses in Florida is absolutely hideous & very wet. Inconsistent lies terrible bunkers some dirt some clay, some sand& none raked.

I’m local to the area and Hernando oaks is the nicest public course in brooksville for the money right now. Staff is always amazing, foods good. A little busy but was expected

I have been watching most all the local courses are turning into cow pastures.

However, Hernando Oaks are definitely better!

Sunday afternoon play was a bit slow, still, a nice day to enjoy the sunshine and no humidity!

Overall a very nice course.

Tee boxes 4/10

Greens 9/10

Fairways 8/10

Bunkers 6/10

Fairways and greens in great shape. Tee boxes a little worn out and most bunkers were packed sand. Rough was a little on the deep side as we had trouble finding a few balls in it. All that being said, course overall in great shape, just stay out of rough and bunkers....like your supposed to :). Have played here many times in past and love it. Would recommend to friends as always.

Hadn’t played this course in over 15 years, but on a spur of the moment chance to get out for 9 holes with my son, I thought I’d give it a shot. I checked a lot of recent reviews that said the conditions were very good, and I agree. The course is in very good shape in all the right places. There’s some wear & tear where the cart traffic converges, and some of the shaded tees are a little thin, but the fairways & greens were fantastic. And the layout (front 9) was more interesting than I remembered. I’ll be back next week with my dad to play the full 18!

Really like this course. Actually, an odd thing to comment on, but the rough is excellent. Greens roll fairly true. One of my favorite features of any golf course is undulations in the fairway…adds to the challenge. Play this course frequently. Not a member. Staff could not be friendlier, very welcoming.

If you want some challenge in you game, then this is the course. Perfect layout. Nice shape, except for some of the tee boxes. They were in pretty bad shape.

Always enjoy playing this course.

Fairways and greens getting better.

Traps are awful; some nearly unplayable.

They have been a problem since I first played the course 20 years ago.

Will always be a detriment to course enjoyment.

Too bad; it is a great layout.
