Bear's Best Atlanta

Great course, Best short game facility (not private) in the Atlanta area! Great staff... I love the layout and it's always in great shape. In the Atlanta area this, i believe, is the best thing going as far as semi private courses go.

Rain! Rain! Rain! And more Rain! This course was soaked, the bent greens were toast! Wet, mucky, divots everywhere, 50% un-repaired, bunkers near wash out, I could go on but I won't. I am sure this is a real nice course under normal conditions. I am sure at some point I saw Noah and the Ark float by!!! Enjoyed the 7 holes we played but just couldn't judge anything, no roll out, rough high due to rain, greens so slow and wet. Sometime in the far future I will go back and give it another go just to get the full affect.

The course itself was in good condtion. The greens were extremely slow and beat up. I expect after paying that much to play that the greens woudl have been in much better shape and that they would have been much faster.

At a prime time list rate of $115, this course has fallen off tremendously. I have played it several times over the years and its by far in the worst shape seen. Greens are beaten badly, fairways as well with lots of crabgrass in spots and overall maintenance has declined. Can't tell if its due to over play, lack of maintenance, weather related, fore caddies not there to repair shot damage or all the above. I just know there are many courses for a fraction of the cost in much better shape.

The greens and sand traps were in unacceptable shape. I have played this course ten times over the last several years, but it is now at the bottom of my list given the poor current maintenance. As always, the layout is great and the staff friendly, but there is work that needs to be done to restore this course.

This is a must play course and well worth the price and the travel time. I was disappointed in the condition of the greens as it appears the public does not take the time to repair their ball marks. Very sad to see this as this is the third time I have played this course and the greens have been abused by the public. However I will return and play whenever I can as this is the BEST public course around.

Nice to say I have played it. Course was in Good shape but the green rolled at about an 8 and where pretty beat up. This is probably do to playing a tourist course late in the summer. I was not disappointed but did expect a little better greens.

Great course with fast greens. Very difficult and long. Par 3's are great.

I had a great time at Bears Best Atlanta during a recent trip. It was cool to check out each hole to see where the original hole was. Loved the 6 hole (original 12 hole at Muirfield villege). I don't think it's a course I would visit often as it is a little costly, but for a one time visit, well worth it. Staff was very friendly took care of you.

I was able to get a Hot Deal for a Friday evening. Teed off at 5:00pm for $35 and played in about 3:15. I thought the greens would be better maintained/faster than they were, but it wasn't the course staff's fault... there were a lot of pitch marks that weren't properly repaired by players. Overall, a great way to spend an evening on a premier course in the area.

Course was in great shape. Challenging holes and visually appealing. Nice staff. This was my first time at the course and it would be nice to have the hole layout made available on the scorecard. Found some hazards that weren't visible from the tee. Otherwise, great course and I plan to play it again soon.

This course has everything. Great practice facility. Friendly staff. The course is in impeccable condition. I had a wonderful day and b/c of Golf Now I was able to enjoy this amazing course at a discount!!!

the course was in great shape but a little more expensive than i think warranted.

when i showed up they were having a shotgun start to a tourney, which meant we couldn't start on time and would have a 5 1/2 hour round. So, we bailed on it. I've played the course many times. It's a great course, just a little more than i typically like to drive to play living inside the perimeter.

First time playing here. From the back tees (7,100 yards) the course is moderately difficult but playable if you can place your tee shot. Shaping your tee ball is a definite advantage, but hitting it straight won't kill you. Tees and fairways were all well above average. Greens were in need of a good rolling but watch that they don't break like you think they would! Bunkers on the other hand need some work. Not much sand in many of them, a lot of the bunkers were either shallow, hard-packed, or just not up to the layout and the rest of the course. Shop staff was somewhat curt, but very professional. Course staff was polite & attentive. Overall a very good value if you pay the discounted rate! Likely we'll be back!!

The holes are amazing and the course is in perfect condition.

3 1/2 hours to play 9 holes!!!!!! no marshall anywhere, trash cans overflowing with beer cans, water bottles, candy wrappers, etc... I intend to write a letter to the head pro and the gen mgr when I get back in town. this was an absolute disgrace. I have played this course many times and would NEVER expect this from bears best. they should be absolutely ashamed of their whole staff!!!!! no cart girl for the last 1 1/2 hours we were there either. overall terrible experience. one green actually had 8 people like they were the only ones on the course. 2-3 groups on the tee, just ridiculous. believe me I am not one who complains about golf but this was simply beyond belief. I hope the staff gets to read this. but I will still send a personal letter to them. thank you
