Bear's Best Atlanta

The course and greens were perfect. I was so pleased with the layout and setup that we cant wait to return. Staff was super nice too!

The course was pretty open and we were allowed to tee off earlier than scheduled. The starter was friendly and easy going. The weather was beautiful and with the pace of play, my playing partner and I were able to get 36 holes in before darkness in November. The course looked like a lot of maintenance was being put in before winter and they take hold in Spring. Overall, a great day of golf.

Too slow, too many pock marks on the Greens, but it's a great place to play and it's put money into pushing the ceiling of public play in metro Atlanta.

They need to space the times out to 12 min, 8 does not work. It never will. But this remains about as good as it can get for public golf, so if you're looking for smooth and cared-for Greens, you're already in the wrong place, that's for private clubs.

Arrived and no one at bag check and carried bags to pro shop ..

Place seemed empty.. wanted to eat after round but nothing happening

I know it was Monday but service compared to Chateau courses is lacking

Course has some great holes but in reality is generally wide open off the tee..

Par 3's are highlight.. Especially 6th - memorial par three and 11th

Lies around the greens were typically bare and tight

Greens were decent..

Hole 1 was tough and tight but some easy short par 4's followed..

Holes 7 -9 -10 and 12 are dull.. The 12th might be the most boring hole i have ever played.

I hit around 70 pct of fairways - highest ratio for 2023 shows how open it is at times

5th and 13 th are best par 4s ..

Ladies struggled with the forced carry on many holes ..

Not rushing back

Bears Best is a course I’d recommend to play. Course tees, fairways and greens were in very good shape. Many of the bunkers are being reworked and or had little sand. That’s why a 4 vs 5. Got a very good rate via GN Hot Deal for a late afternoon tee time. Check in was easy and Pro Shop staff very friendly. I’ll be back.

I love Bear's Best. When conditions are good its 5 stars, but on Monday it was apparent that the bunkers needed work.

The greens had recently been punched (a week or so before), BUT they rolled fairly consistent and did not detract from conditions.

The bunkers should be considered ground under repair as many had little to no sand, or were clearly being repaired.

Recommend putting some local rule signs up when we should and should not play out of them.

Also on the two holes that were Cart Path only, a friendly sign at tee box would be helpful to remind us.

I've been looking forward to playing Bear's Best for a long time and finally got a great opportunity at a very fair price through Golf Now. The layout was fabulous and the recreation of holes famous to the Bear were right on. They recently aerated the greens, but that is regular maintenance and I accept that. They still putted well. The fairways were excellent. They are working to resod some of the tees which is fine, but there is ongoing work on some of the bunkers, as well as huge inconsistencies in bunkers not being redone. This is the reason I didn't give higher marks on course conditions. With improvements to the bunkers, I'd be happy to give an excellent rating.

Unfortunately this Bears Best course was very disappointing. The bunkers were in terrible condition. Weeds everywhere, tee boxes in bad shape. I played this course a couple of years ago and it was the same story but thought I would give it another try. There are plenty of other courses that I would recommend over this one.

Do not waste your time and money playing this course

Enjoyable experience. Challenging. Will definitely go back.
