Bear's Best Atlanta

This course is almost always well maintained. Teals raked, greens pretty true. Some maintenance workers need to be told that when customers are playing a green, they need to stop spraying the green and get out of the way.

Course was in great shape. Layout is fair but still challenging. Service from staff was top notch. Only downside was we were a twosome and had a foursome in front of us who were pretty slow and didn’t let us play through , even with no one in front of them and no one behind us. Rookie move by those golfers.

Would recommend.

Took two of my friends from Texas out there and we got so lucky that it was a slow day and had plenty of time to enjoy the course and play at our own pace. Even being cart path only, they could not stop talking about how amazing it was. Super friendly staff. Big shout out to Bob for the pro tips to my friends before our round

Although the fairways had been punched, there was no real impact on play. Course was in good shape other than a few tee boxes that needed some attention. Need more rakes around the bunker complexes.

The attendants were great as was the cart girl. The playing surface was great. We had a great time and will be back again.

Rudest starter I’ve ever met on a course - ncie course but this ruined the day for me, won’t come back.

Despite the fact that I draw the ball, I like the mostly left too right course. In great shape, greens true and new bunkers awesome. Alway play when I visit Cumming.

Bears Best is a really cool course in Suwanee; each hole is a replica of a famous Jack Nicklaus design somewhere in the world. The course has a nice balance of challenging and forgiving.

The staff was very gracious and helpful.

A few notes for improvement.

Dry off the cart seats after it's stopped raining.

Pace should be strictly enforced.

Don't charge full price for aerated greens...even two weeks later they were not good at all.

Residents walking on the course delaying play should be fined. We waited several minutes to tee off for this group of knuckle draggers to move along off the cart path.

Otherwise, it's a nice course with great clubhouse service and new carts.

We were very much looking forward to Bears best. It was recommended to us. We were told what an awesome course it was. Unfortunately, the condition of the course was fair and best. The driving range was a complete sandpit, and the greens were only moderately true. However, the staff was very friendly and you could see that 30 to 60 days from now, with appropriate maintenance, the course could be beautiful. Would not play again. We played four courses during our trip to the masters, and this was by far the bottom of the list.

We paid $150 to play on the weekend and considering the course, $60 to $75 would have been a fair price range. There was nothing about the design of the course that stood out and the playing conditions were closer to a municipal course than a premium venue. We played 6 courses in the area and this was at the bottom of the list. The staff and pace of play was good but we will never return.

Staff was outstanding, food was very good. Layout was very good. Green speeds were inconsistent. Very little grass around the greens - LOTS of bare, hard-packed sand lies you just grabbed putter for instead of playing the shot you normally would around the green. Definitely not worth the $104 price tag in my opinion.

Bear’s Best is in great condition. Nice pace of play too. Greens & fairways were very nice. Excellent food in the restaurant after our round.
