About
Blackstone Golf Club is one of the hidden gems of Chicagoland golf courses. It has one of the most natural landscapes of any course in the area thanks to the incorporation of more than 26 acres of environmentally protected wetlands. Half of the course is routed through dense forests of oak and hickory trees while the other half stretches across lush, open meadows. The wetlands come into play on 13 holes. Bob Lohmann, the golf course’s designer, crafted dramatic bunkers with irregular edges and strategically placed more than 50 of them along the greensides and fairways. It’s not a golf course where you can “grip it and rip it,” instead it will force you to think carefully before each hole. The layout can be a challenging test but four sets of tees and wide, player-friendly fairways make Blackstone G.C. more accessible for a wide range of skill levels.

Well maintained
Fair layout, greens fast and true, sand traps could ise a bit more sand but are better than most in the area, noce golf carts but GPS equipment would be nice.
Great Course
Do yourself a favor and play Blackstone. I have played 3 different TPC courses this year along with 30 different courses in 4 states and Blackstone’s greens are the best!!! I have played here for several years from March to November and the course conditions are always great
Pace of play is always around 4 hours or less

Great course in the Rockford area!
Although we golfed after a rainy couple of days, the course had drained well. It was in excellent condition and very challenging. We will be back.

Immaculate conditioned course!
Other than the Skeeters & Gnats annoying us on 6 holes on the back 9? This was by far, the BEST conditioned tract I've played in Illinois! From tee to green, you can't ask for a better manicured course!
Condition & course laying out
Very challenging course but beautiful laying out course,I'm always enjoy.

My friend has played @ Bowes Creek & Highlands of Elgin, really loves those courses. I have been telling him about Blackstone since last year. Finally I got him to go. His response after the front nine was he will be playing there more often then the above mentioned. Not to take anything away from those 2 courses, he loved the total layout & views of the course. It was in great condition, greens were smooth and quick. Loved it. Had a great time
This place is fabulous!!
Visiting Crystal Lake and I found this course thru Golf Advisor. Wow!! What a great course. WELL worth the price. Layout was fun and challenging. Greens were rolling true and quick. Entire course was manicured perfectly. Beautiful club house. Nice practice area. Pro shop and maintenance staff were friendly and proud of the place. They should be.

Great greens
This is a very good course. Requires shotmaking skills not found on most courses. Very fast greens demand concentration on all chips and putts. Course knowledge a huge plus. Keep the driver in the bag on 3 or 4 par fours.

Course in outstanding shape Best I've seen this year as far as every part of the course. Bunkers fairways and greens layout of course would play again in a heartbeat

Always consistent and as fast as any ( have played several TPC courses)
The overall condition of the course is first class from the tee boxes fairways bunkers and of course the greens. Nice practice area
Carts are top notch as welll - phone charger
Pace of play is great. Last 4 times I played here we finished in 4 hours ( foursome all different times and days)

Fantastic layout
Excellent course , tough but playable always in great condition, greens are challenging but fair, staff does good job of keeping pace moving (they say 4 hours and they mean it).

Love this course... I’ve always found this course to be in incredible shape for play..
From tee to fairway to green this course is both challenging and a pleasure to play..
I have always found the course to be available to find a tee time... Clubhouse staff as well as starters and rangers are all friendly and engaging..
Cost to play for a course of these conditions are well worth the value..
Blackstone is worth the drive!
Drove out to Marengo from Schaumburg, an easy 40 min ride on 90. This course is such a value for the dollar! Wide fairways, in great shape, and greens that were taken care of by fellow golfers. (Ball marks repaired!). Such a nice treat out there, It'll be on my list of courses to hit all season long. (Bowes, Highlands & Blackstone are my "Trifecta"!
If you have a chance, please take the easy ride out to Blackstone!
