Great course. Worth the drive. Challenging layout.

Blackstone is clearly one of my favorite courses

to play because of its challenging layout and fantastic

conditions. Some of the purest and best greens anywhere.

The facility is beautiful. The restaurant has a beautiful view however every time we have been there the restaurant wasn't serving food other than hot dogs when we finished the round at 3:00 on weekend. We've had to go somewhere else to eat. Rather disappointing.

Golf course is lots of fun with a number of holes that present you with an option of letting the big dog eat or not. The holes are varied and the greens challenging. Their outstanding clubhouse provides a great way to finish off the experience.

I played on a Sunday afternoon while it was drizzling. Practically nobody was on the course so the pace was amazing. The course is very unique and was in amazing shape especially for mid fall. Would play this course again with no hesitation. Well worth the drive.

This course is one of my personal favorites. The layout is smart, -and the landscaping is beautiful. This is not a course that is forgiving for beginners, so it might be frustrating for the higher handicappers. Greens are fast, and the fairways are outstanding (especially during the late spring / summer). Great place to get lunch or have dinner with the family. Hands down one of the best....

Played Tuesday September 13 at 8:10. Was early starter let us go 8:00. Nobody rushing us course was excellent. Drove 45 miles to play no regrets at all except wish could of played more often. Fairways perfect greens challenging. Would recommend getting out with early tee time was crowded at noon.

This was my 3rd time to play this course. The course is well laid out with a lot of different challenges. The weather was good with some wind which made certain holes more challenging than the hole would first appear. The course has a putting green, chipping green and driving range. The problem we faced were warn, beat up and fuzzy greens. Most greens were full of ball marks and some had bare spots. The distance between holes makes walking not a reasonable option. The course provides multiple tee boxes so there is something for most golfers. The big negative in addition to the condition of the greens is that the club house/bar was closed for a wedding. We salvaged the situation by driving to a local sports bar where the beer was cold and for a reasonable price. Best tips: book an early tee time and verify that the club has not booked a private function so you can enjoy ALL that the course has to offer.

Well worth the drive to this gem 1/2 way between Chicago and Rockford. Took me 1:25 minutes from south Naperville but I enjoyed the whole experience. Fairway's are relatively wide, greens receptive of a well struck shot. Greens are mostly elevated, and most have a lot of undulations. Fast true greens, all around great course if just a bit off the beaten path

club house is very nice. Staff was nice and friendly and efficient.

Practice area was well maintained.

Getting to the first Tee for first timers took a little looking.

The starter gave us the course 411 after a friendly greeting nice guy. The told us 15 hundred times how fast the greens would be that day because of the club championship. All i can say is he warned us and i think my first putt is still rolling along someplace. WOW greens like table tops it was impressive . By hole 5 i got the speed and loved it would play that way all the time if i could.

Course is nice , good elevation changes, good condition,great greens, pace of play was fast so nice.

One of my favorites. Greens very receptive. Only one negative I have is that it always seems to be overly wet. Over watered.

The course is in immaculate shape, the 10 minute tee times spreads out play so you rarely wait, and the greens are very true.

I'd first like to start off my review by pointing out that I have played this course about 4-6 times since June. My first impression was, "wow, why haven't I come out to Marengo to play this course before?" Beautiful course my first time out. Greens were amazing, very nice hole layouts, I loved it. My new favorite course. But the last three times I have been there I've had nothing but bad experiences. First off, I've never had so many problems with pace of play at any other course in the Northwest Suburbs. You start off fine but then as you make the turn, a random foursome or even fivesome pops out in front of you. I've never seen a ranger ride around and check on pace of play or golfers with poor golfer edequate. There aslo seems to be very grumpy members or regulars that play here often that dislike a younger crowd. And I'm 28 and a mid 80s golfer, not some young punk kid just starting to play. I've almost been hit three times now in the last three times playing there by older golfers in their 40s or 50s. We had nowhere to go (foursome clearly in front of us taking forever) but still got hit up on almost every hole. A ball even hit my cart as I was getting into it and I got no apology, a warning yell, nothing. This course use to be somewhat of a secret it seems but now the word is out on this course. My most recent round on 8/16 my partner and I got stuck behind a random foursome behind another random fivesome that were not in front of us on the front nine. This is a Tuesday and we started our round at 2:30. Finished the front nine in an hour and fourtyfive min. and did the back in over three hours...The two random groups were also full of golfers that were highly intoxicated and very poor golfers with no respect for the course. Chunks were taken out of the greens, footmarks from dragging feet, tee boxes with nowhere to put a ball outside a divot. This is a hard course and very nice but poorly managed. It's not worth the drive and the headache. I will not be coming back to this course again. Three bad experiences in a row is enough for me.

I had heard great things about this course. Sadly, my expectations were not met upon playing here. I loved the layout and the holes, but the word must be out on this course because there was some real awful players ahead of us. Did not see a ranger 1 time to intervene with these guys ahead of us. Drunk, rowdy, disrespectful. Took us just under 3 hours to finish the back 9. They were slamming putters into the green, tearing it up. Leaving us with a mess to deal with on every hole. And not once did a ranger come out and ask for play to be sped up. Ahead of them was a fivesome that was taking their sweet old time. If not for the pace of play I would have given this course a 4-5 star review. But it should never take 2:50 minutes to finish the back 9 on a Tuesday afternoon. You can play at courses just as nice without the issues for the same price, I would recommend avoiding this course until they sort out their pace of play issues.

I have been playing this course since it opened. Play here 5-10 a year from spring until they close and have never been disappointed in the course conditions especially the greens

Enjoyed playing at Blackstone, but being the middle of July, beautiful warm weather, very disappointed that there was not a refreshment cart on the course and the half way house was closed. Seemed to me that there was enough golfers on the course to have a cart person.

Great course! Best value around.
