Blackstone Golf Club
About
Blackstone Golf Club is one of the hidden gems of Chicagoland golf courses. It has one of the most natural landscapes of any course in the area thanks to the incorporation of more than 26 acres of environmentally protected wetlands. Half of the course is routed through dense forests of oak and hickory trees while the other half stretches across lush, open meadows. The wetlands come into play on 13 holes. Bob Lohmann, the golf course’s designer, crafted dramatic bunkers with irregular edges and strategically placed more than 50 of them along the greensides and fairways. It’s not a golf course where you can “grip it and rip it,” instead it will force you to think carefully before each hole. The layout can be a challenging test but four sets of tees and wide, player-friendly fairways make Blackstone G.C. more accessible for a wide range of skill levels.

Stepped Up Its Game
The last time I played this course the greens were all hacked up (last year?). This time they were very nice and rolled true. Layout is very good with quite a few challenging holes, Especially with the wind. Quite a few holes exposed to the wind and a number of them with trees as well. Tees were good as were the fairways. Since this is somewhat out in the middle of nowhere, I think the price, especially for a weekday was a bit high. All in I I want to go back and play it now.
Quality establishment

No Ranger (Behind slow group)
Aeration on some fairways
Second favorite Blackstone
Only second because there's a Blackstone in Arizona. I love playing here great layout little long to walk so I don't. We played latter in the day this time it would be nice if othe players would fix ball marks. Greens are challenging but I was fixing ball marks in every green. I will be back
great course, friendly staff. look for deal on websites.
Great Track
Was in great condition. Pace of play perfect
Best greens I have played all year
Good, Not Great
Having heard great things about this course, I made the hour+ drive from Deerfield for a $33 hot deal. The greens are pure-as fast and as good as most private clubs-and the overall conditions were phenomenal. It's the layout that holds me back from saying the course is great. The 4th hole is a par 5 with a driving angle that makes no sense, the 7th is supposed to be a "classic" short par 4, but there's no reward in being aggressive and 11 is almost the same hole, just from a different elevation. The rest of the back nine is amazing and overall, it's better than most, especially at that rate. I'll likely make it a once or twice a year trip
Horrible pace
Nice course but horribly managed...had to wait 20 minutes on each shot due to players being jammed up, no rangers in site...last time I will play here...
Awesome course
Course was beautiful. Great shape. Great pace of play.
Best kept secret in the western suburbs
We are avid golfers and play a lot of golf in the western suburbs, and Blackstone never disappoints. The layout is scenic and challenging with several sets of tees to make it fair for all levels of play. greens are some of my favorite of the public courses; they are challenging and fast but true - all you have to do is get the putt on line. Good value for the greens fee even on a Sunday afternoon on a Holiday weekend and the pace of play was around 4:15...can't beat that. Pro shop staff is friendly and they have a nice selection of merchandise, too. Highly recommended and will definitely be back!
Great Holiday
The day was bright and the wind was up. Just a great course with some fast and tricky greens. Want to go back and try it again now knowing where the greens are and having a sharper short game.
Little slice of Heaven
It's a trek to God's Country, but once you step out of the car and walk up the hill, you'll find a " little slice of heaven " Great layout, fantastic greens, friendly staff, well worth the drive.
Excellent Course, Great Facilities, Good Value
Blackstone Golf Course offers a great challenge to golfers of all skill abilities. With picturesque views from the tees, undulating fairways and consistently fast greens regardless of the weather, Blackstone is well worth the ride.
Great Course!
I have now played at this course 5 times and loved it every time. The first time I ever played was when the club house was a trailer. The club house is now beautiful and the course is even better. If I had the money I would buy a house on the course. We commuted from Arlington Heights and it is well worth the drive to get there. I would recommend this place to any avid golfer that enjoys a challenging course.
Nice
Very nice course with challenges everywhere. Greens are faster then the public courses I'm use to but were in excellent shape. Will definitely play again
Played Beautifuly Despite Soaked Course Conditions
Been here enough to see it hot and dry and now after this last round, absolutely soaking wet. Still the greens were running fast and true as experienced with each previous round. The starter told us that despite the recent thunderstorms, they should still be running about a 10 -10.5 on the stimpmeter. Gotta love that! Every Staff member encountered was happy, kind, and each had answers to our questions. What more can you ask for in a course. Unfortunately for us and for Blackstone, they had an outing one day earlier and what comes with that was evident; Lots of unrepaired ball marks, people driving off the cart path creating ruts in the grass, divots everywhere. Just general group insensitivity. The thing is, it didn't really affect my play or enjoyment of the game or the course as we played lift-clean-and replace. I know they'll have that repaired ASAP, the course will drain out, and quickly be in top notch shape. Blackstone Was a top favorite the first time I played it a few years ago and it remains a top favorite. Looking forward to returning!
Very nice course
Great course and very challenging. Staff was very friendly. Would definitely recommend this course.
