Eaglewood Resort & Spa
About
Located just northwest of Chicago, the Eaglewood Resort & Spa opened for play in 1932. It is a classic championship golf course, built during a time when the long drive was unheard of. The 6,017-yard layout seems short by today's standards, but the course still offers a formidable challenge. It features rolling fairways lined with century-old oak trees and wildly undulating, difficult-to-read greens with varying speeds that fluctuate depending on the weather, season, and even time of day. There are generous landing areas but they are bordered by deep, strategically placed bunkers that are just waiting to swallow even slightly errant shots. The carefully sculpted and plentiful bunkers are a prominent feature of the layout. Eaglewood's scenic landscape also has three lakes that come into play on eight holes.

Only took me 30 years! Photo submitted by rjhmu on 11/04/2012
Wow!!!
Sooo, I’m in the restaurant and hospitality industry and golfed here on Saturday. I’ve played the course quite a few times over the years. It’s a bit short but don’t let that fool you, it’s not easy. The greens are challenging and fun. The purpose of this review though is not the golf course, but the management and service I’ve experienced here. Truly amazing customer service is rare these days, but omg the staff and management here is beyond amazing! I’m a smoker (don’t shame me, I have a quit day) and while running late to the course realized I was out of cigarettes. Not wanting to miss my tee time, figured maybe I’d get lucky and I could buy some there. Well, they don’t sell them. But!!! I asked the cart girl if she could find a way to get me a pack...about 15 min later she found me on the course, told me her manager said “we don’t sell them, but the customer gets what they want, please run to the gas station and take care of it.” Talk about going the extra mile, literally! Now please don’t burden the staff by expecting them to run out and get anything you may need at anytime but know that when you’re thinking about getting a round in, you will not be disappointed choosing to play here!
Mediocre
Underwhelming course overall. The staff was friendly and it was in decent condition for the most part, but the greens were extremely slow. The layout is pretty bad… almost every par 4 is around 320 yards with minimal variety. All of the holes are really close to each other too, so you end up dodging the shots of other groups constantly. There’s also no driving range. With so many great courses in the area, skip this one.
Decent course for the price
Played Eaglewood before. The course was not in the greatest shape. Some of the greens were rough to play/read. Garbage cans on course were overflowing and garbage was spilling out. Cart person only came around 1x and it was a hot and humid day. Group in front of us was playing slow and holding up play. Overall, I would recommend the score because it was a good price and the course is fun to play.
$48 - 9 holes LOL!!
Whoever sets the rates may want to reassess charging $48 for 9 holes. Definitely not worth that.
Great course
Had a great time playing here. Nice layout and grounds. I wish that there were signs to mark each hole with the distance and par. Other than that, had a great time.
Tight Fun Course
The course is not the longest ( perfect for me as too many courses focused on length which is over rated IMO), but challenging as deep bunkers and narrow space at greens demand precise shotmaking. Greens are not flat and you have to work to get in hole. Pace was great, this is a course in great shape, fun and challenging.
Eagle
The course was pitiful worst condition I had ever seen I’ve played there one hundred times it was the biggest waste of my time and money ever
