Eaglewood Resort & Spa
About
Located just northwest of Chicago, the Eaglewood Resort & Spa opened for play in 1932. It is a classic championship golf course, built during a time when the long drive was unheard of. The 6,017-yard layout seems short by today's standards, but the course still offers a formidable challenge. It features rolling fairways lined with century-old oak trees and wildly undulating, difficult-to-read greens with varying speeds that fluctuate depending on the weather, season, and even time of day. There are generous landing areas but they are bordered by deep, strategically placed bunkers that are just waiting to swallow even slightly errant shots. The carefully sculpted and plentiful bunkers are a prominent feature of the layout. Eaglewood's scenic landscape also has three lakes that come into play on eight holes.

Delightful golf
If you enjoy golf friendly courses, this may be the one for you.. Short enough to be friendly challenging enough for the more experienced.. All in all a good course with decent greens and a layout
Power Rankings Top 20 List
Great Course With plenty of Hidden Challenges & Blind tee shots. The greens played Fast on Front but much slower on the back as my score clearly indicates we got hot deal but the regular price wasn't a reach. For the price I will rank this course #9 in my Dupage/Will county power rankings.
Great course, great price
Love playing this course whenever I can. It's always in great shape and you can't beat the price either on or offseason. Got a bit crowded on a couple of the holes, but the layout is enough to break that up. Definitely recommend for golfers of all ages
Greens
Generally a good course...BUT... Had major issues with how poor the greens are ....fairways are decent...greens are the worst I've ever played on.
Short Course / Priced More Than Value
I played this course as a last minute tee time on a Sunday. I was one of maybe 6 groups that I could see, so pace of play was great. Greens where inconsistent in length. I paid $57 and believe it should $45 for what this course offers.
Love this place!
Tucked away, I hate to write this review, afraid people will find my secret course! It's a shorter track but still challenging. Plenty of bunkers and enough water to keep you honest. Carts are nice and well maintained (no GPS). If the greens were nicer my review would have been 5 stars across the board!
Nice Layout, needs some work
A short, sporty course, even from the tips. We may play it a couple of times each year based on a good goflanow deal, because we don't feel it's worth the normal rates. The condition of the greens were terrible this last trip. Not sure if this was some disease, or having to let them grow out. Slow and lumpy. Besides that we like the layout and you kind of remember the holes as opposed to those courses where all the holes seem the same.
Nice course....bad service
The course itself was nice and not to intimidating for newer players. Some short par 4's....would play again. At the turn there was nobody to get a snack from. Also after our round we thought it would be nice to catch a bite to eat. We sat in the clubhouse at a table for 15 minutes and nobody came to our table with menus or to take our order.....
Great course
Short but difficult. Great sand and greens. You yourself a favor and play it.
Play is too slow
Maybe a short, one page written handout (or post it in the carts) about golf etiquette. Like....really....some people wait for the players in front to get on the green before they tee off.
Slow greens
Course is short but tight. new bunkers are well placed. one foursome held up play yet there were no rangers to be seen. Greens were undulated but extremely slow
Short but tough
Front nine tight with trees and blind shots, back nine wide open plays longer!
Not a bad course to build confidence yet be challeneged
Eaglewood is a resort course, short but well laid out.
Some interesting holes and fun to play
Greens could be better maintained, shaggy and a bit inconsistent green to green as far as play and roll
Short w/ Good Elevation
Eaglewood is one of my favorite "easier" courses in the area. At just over 6,000 yards this very generous par-72 leaves you feeling good about yourself after 18 holes. What I love most about this course are all of the elevated tee boxes. The front 9 really stands to me. The only drawbacks of this course are how tightly-packed it is (beware of incoming balls) course) the almost always "dazed" starter that doesn't seem to know how to efficiently get groups out. Beyond that, I am a big fan of Eaglewood and think it's a great value.
Nice encouraging course
The course is wonderful for novice such as myself. I was able to putt for birdie on 9 out of 18 holes. What a great feeling!!! Only made 2. Lol enjoy and swing easy!!!
Will NOT go back
After finishing the first 14 holes in just over 4 hours, we reached the nexus of tee boxes for holes 11, 15 and 18. My wife complained to one of 2, yes two rangers that were hanging around this area. The ranger actually began to ARGUE with my wife that "we should expect this, it's busy", and "that's pretty good for a weekend". He finally went ahead and asked the group in front of us to speed up. They picked up the pace and we finished in just under 5 hours. But the pace for the last 4 holes was a good 15 minutes per hole. The first 14 were 17 minutes per hole or so. What this course apparently doesn't realize is that the 2 minutes per pace difference per hole is 30 minutes for the first 14 holes. A 4 1/2 hour round would have been pretty good. The sad part is this is a 6,000 yard course. Pretty easy and a nice layout. A 4 1/2 hour round should be very easy to manage. But not only do they not want to bother to manage it, they are willing to actually argue and debate the issue. In fact the ranger actually suggested "your wife should just tee off". So arguing over slow play and being sexist will keep us from going back to what is actually a nice little layout. "Oh we don't bother the outings for slow play". Wow! Simply wow.
like the course
good course to play with challenging greens friendly staff and fun to play
Good Value
Booked a tee time an hour before on a Sunday Afternoon. It was a great value for what we payed, the staff was very friendly. The worst part about it was that it was such a nice day pace of play was really slow because everyone else was out playing as well.
Slow for a Saturday
Went off at 9:52, the starter was very eager to keep us to that time slot. Finished the first 3 holes in an hour and twenty. Course was horribly backed up from the start. I shot a 39 on the front, but it took more that 3 hours just for the front. Finished all 18 in over 5.5 hours.
Tricky little guy
This course was very nice and had a few tricky holes that will keep the golfer on his toes.
