Eaglewood Resort & Spa
About
Located just northwest of Chicago, the Eaglewood Resort & Spa opened for play in 1932. It is a classic championship golf course, built during a time when the long drive was unheard of. The 6,017-yard layout seems short by today's standards, but the course still offers a formidable challenge. It features rolling fairways lined with century-old oak trees and wildly undulating, difficult-to-read greens with varying speeds that fluctuate depending on the weather, season, and even time of day. There are generous landing areas but they are bordered by deep, strategically placed bunkers that are just waiting to swallow even slightly errant shots. The carefully sculpted and plentiful bunkers are a prominent feature of the layout. Eaglewood's scenic landscape also has three lakes that come into play on eight holes.

Eaglewood
Had a pleasant day of golf. The course is short for long players but the layout and scenery makes up for it. Greens took a hit this winter but looks like they're coming back well. Will have to come back and play once the greens grow in.
Slow Play
While it was car path only, the group ahead of us had several holes open in front of them. We waited on the tee and the fairway every hole.. A ranger came by several times but never talked to us and appeared to never talk to them.
Good Condition early season
It rained the previous 2 days, and have had bad weather recently. Course is in surprisingly good shape. Though, the greens are a bit rough. Great course overall.
Greens were basically unplayable
the greens were completely horrible to be honest. could hit a putt without it hopping 50 times left and right before it got the hole. had probably 10 birdie looks within 20 feet and made 1 of them cuz it cant hold the line at all. everything else was pretty solid though for the $. anything over $30 here is a waste of money forsure
Course is only good for practice
The course has boasted of renovations. I asked when I checked in, and was told some of the greens had been redone. My assessment after playing here once last year is that two greens have been redone, while many are still diseased. Some fairways, too.
This course is pretty much only good for practicing, and only if the price is $25 or lower.
Good value
The course is beat up right now... a lot of the greens are in bad shape but I teed off at 6:40 in the morning for around 30 bucks with a cart which I thought was about right for the course. I wouldn't pay full price to play here though until the greens are back in shape.
Horrible course conditions!! Rude staff and not a good experience.
The green complexes have to be the absolute worst in the chicagoland area if not the state of Illinois or even the entire midwest. I would guess that 14 or 15 of the greens were not playable. It was a horrible experience to hit the green and not be able to even find any type of path that actually had grass between the ball and hole. I asked the Director of Golf Operations about the course 's overall condition after the round and instead of an explanation or apology I was personally attacked and told I had no right to even ask about the conditions or get additional satisfaction. The Golf pro was completely rude in every way possible and could not even have a polite conversation or reach any compromise on a future date to play at a reduced rate. The customer service was the worst I've ever experienced in any type golf setting!!!!!!
bad greens
This short course is very appealing to the eye; until you get on greens. They are absolutely horrible. Every forest preserve and park district course has better putting surfaces. That's my only complaint. I feel that the greens cost me at least three strokes. I was told by someone there that the price will be going to $67 this summer. If so; I will not be back until the greens or as they should be called the browns are re-sodded
Decent course
This course has potential but it is really beat up from the harsh winter. The greens are currently in awful condition but I expect that things will improve as the warmer weather rolls in. My biggest complaint was the lack of etiquette being enforced by the ranger on the course. Several groups were extremely slow and all over the course, several times we had a cart drive on to our fairway, without even looking, to look for their balls as someone in our group was about to tee off. We saw people in sand traps hacking away 5, 6, 7 times and then just walk away without raking just leaving a crater behind. Maybe it was just a bad weekend but I don't think we'll be coming back to this course.
Not bad but not worth full price
Good play for the price we paid but wouldn't go back and pay full price for it. Course was nice and the greens were kept up well but nothing outstanding to have to go back.
Disappointed
The conditions of the greens and fairways had me surprised the course was even open.
Short but challenging
It is a short course even when you play the back tees. How ever, very narrow fairways. It's also hilly in some spots, making it hard to see the greens some hitting down and some hitting up. I usually plays pretty quick. The drinks are always good, but very expensive, a round for four is 20 to 35 dollars.
Eaglewood Resort Golf
This course would be 5 stars if the greens were in better condition
A nice experience
I play with three of my buddies yesterday. The tee sheet was full, and the pace of play wasn't bad. We booked on Golfnow for $25 a guy plus cart as I'm sure everyone did. We finished in 4 1/2 hours but pace of play didn't seem terribly slow. We enjoyed the day. The condition of the fairways and rough was good. Some of the greens were lost from the winter but that was expected. It was a great day for the cost, not to mention $2 hot dogs at the turn.
course conditions
This winters cold weather really messed up all the golf courses. It's going to take a lot of TLC to get these golf courses up and running.
Eaglewood
18 holes in under 3 1/2 hours. Inexpensive with in-line deal. 14out of 18 greens were in terrible condition. Some kind of blight, have played other courses in the areas this year and greens were fine so it can't be the snow. Greens have to be repaired or replaced. It's a shame, nice layout; fun course.
This course was good layout
I enjoyed my golfing, but temperature was a little down and I was not warming up enough.
Anyway sunny sky and what can I expect in chicago weather ? Nice outing.
Eagle Wood
Great course. Scenic and enough of a challenge. I enjoy the course.
Poor quality
The greens were aerated and we were not notified in the information prior to booking. Also, it was cart path only which increased the time of play. In addition, the fairways were under repair and in horrible condition.
It's sad that we were able to look through the trees and see the beautiful Medinah Golf course only a few feet away while playing such a horrible course that is not ready for the season.
Brown fairways and greens
After the hard winter both the fairways and greens were in pretty rough shape
