Eaglewood Resort & Spa
About
Located just northwest of Chicago, the Eaglewood Resort & Spa opened for play in 1932. It is a classic championship golf course, built during a time when the long drive was unheard of. The 6,017-yard layout seems short by today's standards, but the course still offers a formidable challenge. It features rolling fairways lined with century-old oak trees and wildly undulating, difficult-to-read greens with varying speeds that fluctuate depending on the weather, season, and even time of day. There are generous landing areas but they are bordered by deep, strategically placed bunkers that are just waiting to swallow even slightly errant shots. The carefully sculpted and plentiful bunkers are a prominent feature of the layout. Eaglewood's scenic landscape also has three lakes that come into play on eight holes.

A fun round of golf.
A especially fun place for couples to enjoy a round of golf together.
Course about par
The course was fairly well maintained, except the sand traps which were missing actual sand. The greens were really fast. The course plays short, even from the black champion tees. Be careful though, and watch for flying balls, tee boxes are close to greens and some fairways run right next to each other in different directions. I had a good round but was paired with three alcoholics that drank like 22 beers and were doing shots causing our round to take 5 hours.
Hidden Gem in Chicago
Great course tucked away by O'Hare and Medinah. Worth every penny of the $30 despite it being a 6,000yd course. Challenging holes that make you think - not just driver, iron, putter-type holes. Well kept greens with THICK rough. Need to be accurate with irons or you will be sorry. Great thinking-man's course that I look forward to playing again and again. Also, staff is super friendly.
Great course - nice vantage points
My brother and I traveled to Eaglewood on an overcast, misty day and as such there was absolutely nobody behind us and only a few groups playing in front of us. Needless to say, it was a great experience.
What I loved best about this course were the challenging greens, high tee-off vantage points on some holes, and (what I thought) long fairways. Overall, would definitely recommend this to my golf buddies/fellow golfers. We took 4 hours when we could have played it in 3.5 - towards the end we caught up with the groups in front of us. We are not great golfers by any means (typically get anywhere between par to 2 above par) but we're relatively quick.
hackin away
great course, great condition. wish the bar would have been open before, 9am, and I thought it was a bit pricey at 59.00..but had a blast as usual...
This course is great for the avg. golfer who loves this game. The tee box are set up nice and the greens are challenging.
I use to play this course back in the 80"s. "It was great then and it's still great today". I would love to make it my home course, but I live in Hyde Park. A must play!
Tough course that was a good price.
I really enjoyed the staff and the way the course was set up. The shorter holes and dog legs were tough, I think I hit my driver only 5-6 times. Made things interesting, only complaint was the two holes where the greens were messed up and they had the temporary greens. Pretty much ruined the hole and its not realy early in the season. Kind of figured they would have those things finished by now. However I would go back and play there.
Course have picturesque views from almost every tee box.
If not for holes 16 & 17 greens under repair and didn't start raining when we were on hole 15, this would have been an excellent golf outing. The staff were super friendly. Me and my golf buddy agreed, we'll be back !!!
Short course, but fun. Some nice holes. Fairways are in great shape; some greens were not optimal.

Great course
Excellent course; enjoy the experience; course is in excellent condition
temp green for now 4/30 played, but they are really trying ...it has
temp green for now 4/30 played, but they are really trying ...it has some character - but for $35-$40 with a cart you can go run...they should advertise - just a step away from Medinah! you can see #3 and construction of Medinah #1 from some of the holes.
If you want to run out and have a good time, hit a few drivers it's a fun course. -
Don't get testy - if you want a great course shell out the $125 somewhere else - or join Medinah it's right next store for $85K
Pretty lush and in good shape this year, although 2 temp greens
Always enjoyed this course, old Lady's Medina CC, I believe.
Pretty, scenic, and between moderate to challenging depending upon the tees you use.
And at the great Golf now price (< than a round of mini-golf)
how can you go wrong?
Big elevation changes and tight.
Nice resort course...it is kinda tight, but I do love those elevation changes....Next closest place, with similar changes would be Fox Lake, and after that Galena...greens can be tricky too...alot of slope in em. Looking back I don't think there's a flat hole on the course....NICE!!!
Shorter than I expected
The course was in reasonably good shape despite two temporary greens. I was surprised how short most of the par 4's were. Pace of play was very slow; just appeared to be too many people on the course.
Short and sweet
This is a very short course. You don't even need to use your driver, unless you want to reach the par-5's in two shots. Using my 3-wood was sufficient to put myself in good scoring position.
The Fairways were well maintained. The green are in good shape; however, the 16th and 17th greens were under repair.
Most holes are close together; so be aware of balls flying your way.
Overall, it was a great experience. I will go back. I would recommend this course but try to not pay full price if the 16 and 17 greens are still closed.
very friendly,nice course
great value with well maintained course. the staffs were very friendly, and course were well maintained after big rain.
It's early in the season
The course is usually pretty good & in decent shape. This early (4/15/13) is expected to be bad but I've played at Bartlett Hills & it's in 10 times better shape. Also having two holes under construction is getting a little repetitive at this course. It doesn't seem to matter when you go there is always a hole or two under construction.
I would wait for the weather to get better before going out there. I would not pay more than $15-$20.
