Eaglewood Resort & Spa
About
Located just northwest of Chicago, the Eaglewood Resort & Spa opened for play in 1932. It is a classic championship golf course, built during a time when the long drive was unheard of. The 6,017-yard layout seems short by today's standards, but the course still offers a formidable challenge. It features rolling fairways lined with century-old oak trees and wildly undulating, difficult-to-read greens with varying speeds that fluctuate depending on the weather, season, and even time of day. There are generous landing areas but they are bordered by deep, strategically placed bunkers that are just waiting to swallow even slightly errant shots. The carefully sculpted and plentiful bunkers are a prominent feature of the layout. Eaglewood's scenic landscape also has three lakes that come into play on eight holes.

Great value
Great value for early season play. Fun links course with challenging elevation changes but plenty of opportunities for par.
nice staff
pretty good course with lots different style of fair way and green .
Beautiful and intimate course
The course is under improvement. Shorter intimate course with beautiful towering oaks.
Price reflects condition issues
This course has condition issues. Even though part of the problem is that the turf is still dormant, there have been condition issues for years here.
Greens are very sloped, which makes scoring tougher than the short length suggests.
The course is priced in line with it's condition problems.
two temp greens
The two temporary greens were bad enough on hole 16 and 17 but the green on hole one was poor. Play was slow due to extremly heavy play.
When conditions are good it is a sporty fun short course of 6,000 yards
Short course but great shape and nice apporaches to greens
This a short course but the layout is still nice. The course is in good shape and the pace of play was acceptable. The approaches to green were fun. Alot of elevated greens. Worth the affordable green fee,
Great Course for the Money
This course is great because it is short for beginner players, yet challenging due to changes in elevation for more experienced players. At certain times during the year it can get sloppy. Since playing here late last year and early this year, I have yet to see the 16th and 17th greens playable. Right now the holes are in the fairway which is a concern if you are paying full price. Great deal when you can play this course for $30 or under with those two holes being basically unplayable.
Greens are horible, some are spray painted green and others are unplayable.
Place is going under. Don't waste your time or money on this dump. All municpal courses I have played are much better.
Nicely designed course. Not cared for.
Well laid out course; beautiful. Forgiving, most holes can hit off of fairway and have shot at hole. Greens very rough, thick and slow. Two greens in such disrepair temporary greens created in fairway. Decent quality sand; not raked. Paid $22 for 18 holes with a cart - super deal offer.
Great 18 for the price!
i played for $20 with a cart on a sunday around noon. this is about the fourth time i've played there since fall broke. probably my go-to course while the season is winding down just to get some extra strokes in
This course has extreme value!!
Very helpful staff made this windy outing a great one!!
Enjoyable course to play
Our foursome enjoys playing Eaglewood and their Staff is friendly and helpful with good amenities. The course has one hole under repair and is almost finished. The fall leaf problem is well controlled and we're planning to revisit as long as Eaglewood is open!
Great value, friendly staff
Except for oneholethat is under repair, the course is in very good condition considering the summer drought and rain lately. This is not a very long course but challenging due to narrower fairways lined with trees. Great view from the club house/hotel
fun to play, challenging holes
couple of the greens were a little beat up otherwise couse in good shape for this time of year very few leafs really maintained well pro shop employees very helpful food was good and priced well weatherpermitting will play again beforeseasons end
nice course
Course is nice , some spots a little beat up but it is a resort course and new golfers forget to fix ball marks etc. Also it was fall golf.It would be very challenging with the trees in full bloom.
Short but challenging.
Relatively short, but trees and deep bunkers increase the difficulty. Played for $12 through Golfnow.com. Can't beat that rate, and didn't have to drive to BFE to play. Even had my first hole-in-one on #6!
Good and Bad
Super great price, staff was honest, course was average for time of year, except, seven greens burnt badly, others needed you to use driver to get it to the hole.
Not a long or difficult golf course.
The golf course is beautifully tree lined, with ample landing zones off the tee but with plentiful, deep sand bunkers awaiting off-line shots.
Good Value
A few of the greens were in rough shape, but all around an enjoyable round of 18.
