About
Located just northwest of Chicago, the Eaglewood Resort & Spa opened for play in 1932. It is a classic championship golf course, built during a time when the long drive was unheard of. The 6,017-yard layout seems short by today's standards, but the course still offers a formidable challenge. It features rolling fairways lined with century-old oak trees and wildly undulating, difficult-to-read greens with varying speeds that fluctuate depending on the weather, season, and even time of day. There are generous landing areas but they are bordered by deep, strategically placed bunkers that are just waiting to swallow even slightly errant shots. The carefully sculpted and plentiful bunkers are a prominent feature of the layout. Eaglewood's scenic landscape also has three lakes that come into play on eight holes.

The course was in great shape. It definitely seemed geared toward an older demographic which affected pace, although other players & rangers were great about allowing us to play through.
Short layout
Course is in good shape.... holes are tighly packed together and are in general short. Too short. I was able to drive 3 greens and most other holes were driver and 100 yards left. Only used 3 other irons all day. Nice course for people who do not hit long as it my provide more opportunities to use more clubs.
Slightly overpriced, your typical resort style course. Very short w/ some interesting looks into a few holes. Was in good shape for early summer. Few rough spots but overall good shape. Prolly would not come back for $75 with the other courses in the area.
Great Course but Need Map
Played on 5/16 course was beautiful it handled a heavy patch of rain beautifully & was very forgiving. Only dislike is there was no map on the scorecard, in the cart, or in the clubhouse. In the middle holes it’s intertwined & hilly so a few times we had to shoot blind not knowing where the hole was.

GolfNow rates in early afternoon
Enjoyed playing Eaglewood on Thursday afternoon. The golf now rates are pretty good and course it was in very good condition.
The rough is very thick grass so it's best to keep your ball in the fairway if you can. We played The Black keys in the back and makes it about 6,000 yards and more of a challenge.
Course in Good Shape
Eaglewood was in pretty good shape for early in the season. The bunkers needed some raking but fairways and greens were in good shape. Remarkably, the greens were very slow, which is not usual for this course. In mid-summer, the greens are incredibly fast. The course has no signature hole and only has a couple of holes where water comes into play. The bunkers, however, are deep and can be challenging to get our of. If you can get a deal for $35 or less than it's worth playing. If it's over $40, I suggest looking at alternatives.
Good beginner coarse. Coarse is short, fairways are forgiving. Greens were super slow today. Great coarse to begin the season.
Outrageously slow due to 5-somes
Despite notifying the pro shop (they promised to send someone but never saw anyone and nothing changed), we witnesses at least two groups of 5 on the course and the one in front of us was extremely slow besides and habitually parked their cart in FRONT of the green and also ignored the 90 degree rule in effect. They were at least 2 holes behind and at one point there were 3 groups waiting at one hole. Fairways were not closely mowed and had considerable bad spots. Greens were inconsistent speeds.
No drinking water on course. Ball/club washer on cart had no water in it.

Beautiful
This was a fun and exciting place to play. Never lost a ball ! I’m from Tucson ,Az and we don’t have courses like this back home. The Ruff was thick and hard to hit out of but the fairways and greens were immaculate.
Short, but challenging, deceptive and charming!!!
The pace was a bit slow on the back nine, but overall the course played well. A couple of holes on the back nine were narrow with a lot of frees on both sides of the fairway. The course was well maintained. I would play this course again.
Always a good round
I've played this course about 10 times over a few years and every time it's in great shape. The staff is friendly and helpful. The pace of play can get bogged down on nice days, but overall it's fine. I'll be back.
Beautiful Day
Perfect weather, course was in nice shape, not crowded. Much hillier than expected. Makes this course different from many others.
