Cherry Blossom is a true Cherry
Beautiful course. Very well maintained. Fairways are cut tight with firm ground under the grass. A little too tight for my game.
Greens in great shape
Will play again soon! The greens were very good for this time of the year! Price very good! Liked the GPS on carts! I'm used golf now and played for 18.00
OVER RATED
I played this course because it was ranked in the top 5 of Kentucky. WOW - Golf must not be big in Kentucky!
1st off - the Staff at the Pro Shop never looked up to look at me, he kept his eyes on his phone playing a game while at the same time watching Family Guy on the TV - hint - ever heard of the Golf Channel! How about looking your PAYING CUSTOMER in the eyes and say "Welcome!"
2nd - no restrooms on course other than 2 portable toilets.
3rd - cart paths were in bad shape!
4th - Greens were in bad condition.
5th - fairways were OK.
6th - The exception - the layout indicates that this course at one time at real potential.
However, due to the lack of good/proper maintenance with the course, cart path, driving range etc.. - this course is at best Fair. And that does not take into consideration the Staff.
If this were a Hotel, it would be a Super 8 or Best Western, definitely not a Hilton, Marriott, and most definite not a St Regis.
In most States, this course would probably not even be within top 5 in many Counties.
Advise -
If the price is under $15, then acceptable price - better yet - find a better to place to play.
Sunday with my sons
Nice course, on time, limited yardage markers, bring something to help with yardage. Very nice course
Seems a little pricey compared to other options in the area
I had an early morning Friday tee time for $53. The attendant in the pro shop seemed way too busy watching TV to give me any details about the course. He just pointed me to the first hole. It was pretty clear they were setting up the course for weekend play, but it was still in pretty good shape. Greens were a slow due to their wetness, but are probably average under normal conditions. They seemed to hold an iron trajectory very easily. I probably would not play this course on a return to Lexington. I felt Griffin Gate and the University Club were better values.
Review
Nice layout but poorly maintained
Fun Time
Played in extreme heat. Occasional breeze made it bearable. Course was in decent shape. Greens seemed very slow and the rough was heavy with crab grass. In spite of a few bumps, we enjoyed our round and the staff was very friendly.
Easy jobs
Me and my buddies try to make it to cherry blossum a couple times a year its a very nice course but they have let it go it being a members course really surprises me the cart paths are bad but the bad part about it could be fixed with a couple bags of blacktop the golf carts are tearing it up and a few of the greens are not good to bad I guess we will find another one to play
Food
So no food at the turn hurts or period hurts. Having to stand in line with the pool people when you are paying $40 a piece to play is a bit much if you ask me. Simple stuff like a hotdog or anything really. If it's a city course or $25 I can deal with it. Nice course though it's in excellent shape and usually is
not a bad course, but better value elsewhere
during check in the guy working the desk seemed pretty miserable about having to be at work so not the best intro to a place you've never played. the price of $50 for a round was the highest we paid on the trip and the course was just not that exciting. pretty bland layout except for a couple of holes on the back 9. the course worked out geographically for our afternoon plans, but if we had it to do over again we'd likely skip it the next go around.
Great course
Cherry Blossom is usually a great value and a beautiful course. It was in top condition.
Decent course....but no yardage markers.
I enjoyed the layout of the course, but was very disappointed in the lack of yardage markers. Other then that it was a pretty nice course.
Great course that needs some TLC
Cherry Blossom is one of the top courses in central Kentucky. It has a little bit of everything; open fairways, narrow fairways, protected greens, uphill drives, downhill drives, sloping and undulating greens, water, hazards in strategic locations, etc. It's in an attractive location, and the layout flows easily. All that being said, I hadn't been there in over a year, and was surprised by the condition of the course. Granted, it is mid-April after an extended cold spell, but the fairways were dry as a bone, and the greens were pretty rough and didn't play true the way I remember from past rounds. Hopefully, this was anomaly and the course will be back in shape by summer. I still recommend this course based on how much fun it is.
Bad management
I booked for 2 people unknowingly a 3rd wanted to join us, I spoke with the attendant , he never said it would be a problem until my guys checked in , we had a 4 o'clock tee time but because one more showed up , we had to wait an hour and go off at 5 o'clock. I took a picture of a group 2 holes in front of us that had 5 players, and I saw a single player also , so how are 3 players any different , we got caught by darkness, I shot 38 on the front but couldn't finish , very unhappy how we were treated and we all were from another town , terrible management.!,!!!!!!!!!
Cherry Blossom
The course was in fairly good shape for this time of year. A lot of roll on the fairways.
Definitely worth playing!
Friendly staff, great pro and nice track with fun layout. Would definitely recommend playing!
Good Course
Golf course was in great condition for playing in November. It was a great day for golf with temps in the 70's. Fairways and roughs were in great condition. The greens were a little slow, soft and bumpy but not bad for late fall.
We had a great day and we decided to go back there again today.
Good course
Good shape considering the recent drought. Greens in good shape. Several fairways spots need attention. Cart path is starting to deteriorate and needs repair
Nice course
My friend and I enjoyed this course overall. My only issue was most of the grass was brown and there were lots of divots on the greens from other golfers who didn't fix them once made.
PGA Championship...
Chose to play over watching the pros and it was a great decision. Received an email for a discounted round and jumped on it. Friend and I played in just under 4 hours. Had to wait a little but we were only 2 in our group. Only complaint is the condition of the greens. If players would properly fix ball marks it would help. Staff was awesome, course was in great shape, had a good day.
