Need marshals
Group in front of us was 2+ holes behind. Where were the marshals? 5 hour round for them and everyone behind.
Never again
Course was in good shape and that’s where the good part ends. Had to hear from what I think was starter telling me I didn’t have a tee even though I had a receipt saying differently. Had to wait 5-7 minutes while he fumbled with I pad or something and then just tells me to go and boy was it slow. The worst part was the golf shop, grunting and pointing are pretty crappy ways to welcome golfers. I have played over 1,800 courses in my life and this was the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. I will not return with at one. Word of advice, when somebody pays you money, say thank you and have a nice day. Don’t flipping grunt and point.
Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear you did not have an enjoyable experience during your recent visit. Please email me at dhess@playthepines.com with more detail from your experience so I can look into your concerns. I look forward to speaking with you soon.
Always a Treat
From the time you load up your cart after the warm welcome in the clubhouse until you return after having the course bring you to your knees, it's a real treat to experience this course. The front nine is a challenge that gets you ready for the back nine which is an adventure to say the least. Be prepared for at least 41/2 hours on the course as many golfers find themselves in over their heads on the back nine. Wonderful way to spend a day on the course.
Thank you for your review. Happy to hear you had an enjoyable round. Look forward to seeing you again soon
Tee boxes and fairways were good but the greens were too slow. May have to do with the type of grass. We will play again when we re in Tucson.
Thank you for your review. Over the past week we have seen improved speed of greens which we hope you will experience again soon.
Thank you for your review. We appreciate your feedback. We look forward to seeing you on your next visit.
Quarry Pines
Insanely slow day per usual at quarry. Had to play the front 9 twice because there were 4 groups backed up on the back. This is the second time that has happened here. They need to do something about this since you should not be racing the sun with a 1 pm tee time. Honestly my least favorite golf experience in Tucson.
Had a good time with the guys I was paired with but come on with the pace of play here.
Thank you for your response. We appreciate your feedback. We will continue to work with our rangers to improve your future experience.
Pace of play was awful
Weekend play was painfully slow. Waiting every hole.
Thank you for your response. We appreciate your feedback. We will continue to work with our rangers to improve future pace of play.
Good starter course for the week
We played 6 rounds in 6 days. This was a good start of this week of golf.
Great Course - Expect slow play
I really enjoy this course because it’s so unique and can be challenging. But, the staff needs to either enforce faster play, which they do not, or change tee times. We paid a fair price for a 1:30pm round and never played a regular full round. After I mentioned something twice to staff about the slow play, they agreed but didn’t take any action. We finished the front 9 in 2 hours, 40 minutes and knew we’d never finish before daylight and decided to replay the front which we still had to rush in the dark. They either need to extend time between tee times or do a better job of managing play. I don’t think it’s fair to pay sub $50 for a round and not even have a chance to finish.
Fuzzy Slow Greens
Overseeding recovery still in progress. Greens were fuzzy and slower then normal. I'd wait another month for better conditions. Greens still not cut down to normal height.
Thank you for your review. Happy to hear you enjoyed your round. See you at Quarry Pines again soon
