StoneRidge Golf Course
About
Elevation changes are the name of the game here with swings from the tees that could make the most even-keeled soul feel Vertigo. The drop from tee to the fairways is as steep as 350 feet. The stretch of 12 through 15 is particularly height challenging. Designer Randy Heckenkemper likes to compare his course his course to a roller coaster. This for a high season $55 greens fee that wouldn't even be enough to get a ticket into some amusement parks.

Nice scenic course
It was hilly and somewhat challenging. The greens rolled well and would know where to hit shots more accurately for direction and distance playing it the next time, which I plan to do. Prescott is so scenic and the people there were extremely friendly which I notice first about someplace. I would recommend this course to be played.
Tons of elevation
Elevation, elevation, elevation...Watch out for those behind you teeing off, we got hit into twice while on the green, some people have no business golfing. Overall, very nice course.
Go see it
Have to say this will be one of my favs courses. Great views, very challenging course, friendly staff, ask Dan in the pro shop about the 18th hole and why its the way it is, great story.
beautiful layout !!!
Golf course is set on a beautiful piece of property
going up & down on a set of small mountains.
Spectacular tee shots & hole layouts.
Bring your A game if you want to score. Otherwise just enjoy the View !!!
can't beat the views
This course is absolutely breath taking... they received a lot of rain so it was cart path only wow some serious hiking and elevation changes. No cart person so it was a long hot and humid round with no refreshments. Worth the drive, come to play and look at the views do come to this course thinking you will shoot the course record.
Love it or hate it
If you are a long hitter and love hitting over ravines, and trees and bushes, uphill and/or downhill onto sloping fareways, then this is the course for you. Otherwise, it's the course from Hades.
PLAY IT
For the valley golfer, this layout will be challenging but oh so much fun. With the dramatic elevation changes and the overall course layout (eye candy) you will be called upon to stretch your strategy skills to the limit. The payoff in play is worth the effort to get there.
Tough Course
If you enjoy target golf, this extremely tough layout is definitely for you! Tough course, long and made longer by the wind (which at times can howl!). Pin placements were sometimes next to impossible and the greens were lightning quick. Definitely a punishing course if you get aggressive. Definitely would not recommend this layout for beginners or novices.
Strategic!
WOW!! Hit fairways!!! Quite a few blind tee shots! Very fun to play! Depending on flag position, there could be some 3-putts! Course knowledge definitely a plus! Will play again.
My favorite Prescott course
I played June 23, 24, 25. Enjoyed the course but found it in need of greenskeeper attention. Some forward tee boxes had not been mowed. Greens were very sparse. Each summer I travel to PV to play StoneRidge and this year the course was not the plush, awesome course which it has been in the past. The pro shop and outside service staff was, as usual, friendly and helpful. As a single player they were happy to advise me about available pairing. I met some really terrific ladies and plan to come back and join them in another round or two. The food service was great and the food was yummy. I hope this course thrives!
Very challenging course
Little bit narrow, plenty of elevation changes, green roll beautifully.
6/12 golf
this is probably the best course to play in the Prescott area! Views are scenic and elevation changes great! Couple of tee boxes were a little rough, but overall great. New construction going on around practice area and #'s 1 and 2.
Beautiful But Tough
Beautiful, scenic course...BUT, not a course for a high handicapper like me. Carry on every hole and really punishes you on poor shots. Would recommend it for low handicappers...otherwise, bring lots of golf balls...you will need them!
Slow, slow, slow
The course seemed good enough, but unfortunately after a 3hr front with no apparent urgency from the marshals, I gave up. To make matters worse, when we finished 9 we had to wait to go to 10 because of a wedding. I would have like to play the entire 18, but I could no longer handle the hurry and wait.
Beautiful high-desert golf
I've played this course many times since they first opened and it never ceases to be an enjoyable challenge. The greatest benefit here is course knowledge, or at least playing with someone who knows the course. There are a great many blind shots and the smart plays are rewarded. The only drawback is a lack of a marshal to regulate the pace of play. Newcomers and less-skilled golfers tend to slow the pace on a course that is already long and challenging.Overall, this is definitely a must play venue.
The Best Course near Sedona since Seven Canyons went private.
I LOVE THIS COURSE. It is a difficult, desert course, with massive elevation changes, manicured fairways and undulating greens. The expansive views are amazing. There is plenty of wildlife to be seen. I MUST play this course every time I am visiting the area. It is a bucket-list type course. It can be much cooler that the valley and windy too ! It does not matter, this course can chew you up, but you just don't mind. It is definitely a risk/reward course. I do not have to make such decisions as I am a short ball hitter. I always finish 18 and no matter what the score, I am already planning to head back again!! Keep up the great work to maintain such a fabulous course, it is really appreciated !!
Great Coarse
Our group had an excellent time on this coarse. You must read the helpful signs at the Tee locations to place your shots, if you miss your spot, you WILL be in trouble. I lost four balls the first time I played
( 12 handy cap ). Excellent food, club house, golf coarse and very friendly, excellent vistas. Please do not attempt to walk here. The tee blocks are far apart and you rarely see other players. Just like owning your private golf coarse.
my round.
Great stuff. One of the better values in Arizona. Course conditions have always been amazing. Tough course, really pay attention to the signs at each hole. Big help! Pace of weird. They scheduled a group or two too many and the 1st nine was painfully slow and never saw a marshall. So bad two groups just gave up. First time this has happened out there so I'm hoping it was just a fluke. Nevertheless, my first choice due to value and friendliness of staff plus amazing conditions will keep me a stoneridge fan! Thx everyone!
Beautiful but tough
This course is beautiful with many elevated tees and wonderful vistas, BUT it is a tough track. Especially if you play it in the wind, and it was 25+ MPH winds when we played.
I'm a 9 handicap and I lost 5 golf balls due to the wind and the slanted fairways. It will take quite a few rounds to know where to hit the ball.

Your review was great! Funny as Hades!!
I'm one of those long hitters so I love this course, but only get to play it once a year or so. :-(
I know what you mean though...
