StoneRidge Golf Course
About
Elevation changes are the name of the game here with swings from the tees that could make the most even-keeled soul feel Vertigo. The drop from tee to the fairways is as steep as 350 feet. The stretch of 12 through 15 is particularly height challenging. Designer Randy Heckenkemper likes to compare his course his course to a roller coaster. This for a high season $55 greens fee that wouldn't even be enough to get a ticket into some amusement parks.

Fun course, great value
If you can keep the ball in the short grass, this could be considered an "easier" course. Stray offline, and dig out another ball from our bag! A great challenge, good views, well maintained.
Slow play and challenging
No ranger! Slow play. Very tough course. Probably will not play again.
bbbb
the course was in great shape. the greens were very fast and a bit tricky to read but true. it would be nice to have a book as some of the holes require local knowledge and with no gps on the carts ALL of the pins should have laser reflectors.
Awesome layout
Stoneridge has an awesome layout and is very challenging, the greens are lightning fast!!! However it will usually take nearly five hours to play. Staff is very friendly.
The greens were fast but fair. Great overall conditions, and of course much better than work.
Awesome Day. Enjoyed it with my son and the golf pro was very helpful. Looking forward to my next round there.
A difficult but interesting course carved out of very rocky and hilly terrain and so very appropriately named.
My wife and I found this to be a very challenging, but interesting course. It has a number of 'blind' tee shots which requires accuracy and ideally local knowledge (which we didn't have). The 18th hole was one of the most unusual holes we have played with an 'S' shaped fairway and well over 500 yds in length. A sign laying out the distances for for first-time golfers on the 18th tee would be very useful.
Great Greens
The course is in great shape and the greens roll true. This is a fun course with elavated tees and forced carries. You have to think about every shot so be sure you have a gps devise with you.
This is a very demanding course with some kind of challenge on every shot. Fabulous greens with speed-the average player may find them too fast.
Very well conditioned course that is a test for everyone. Pick the right tees for the most enjoyment and do not let your ego get in the way.
Arizona's Must Play!
Wow if you want a wonderful round of golf that includes great views, awesome conditions and just an all around awe experience, THIS IS IT! Living in the Phoenix area and playing it for the first time this summer, I will be back again and again. There are some holes that are a challange but over all an average golfer will be in great shape on the layout.
Best of AZ!!
Wow, where to begin with StoneRidge?!? If this were a hiking trail, it'd be one of the most popular in northern AZ with all of the views. Each hole is so pituresque, the staff is tremendously friendly and accommodating and the course is very challenging. Left me feeling accomplished and satisfied. MUST PLAY HERE AGAIN!!!!
the course has great fairways, & tee boxes, nothing level, also great views
We were extremely dissapointed this time that we played. We had to quit on the 13th hole, as there were 3 groups of four in front of us, & they didn't seem to care that there were people behind them. They were so slow that we called the pro-shop, & complained, they sent some one out, but he didn't care anymore than the player. These player were hitting not one ball every shot, but two & three. At the 14th hole we had been playing 4 hrs, every whole from the beginng, was the same. We have played this course alot & never had this happen, so we will be trying again.
Scenic but difficult
I struggled with this course but I have only played it one time. It helps to play it with someone who is familiar with its blind shots and surprising turns.
Great Course that fits the terrain.
This course is allways a challange with breath taking views. If you know how far your clubs hit and can place your shots this is a great course. We try to play this course several times during the summer comming out of the heat. Great staff allways friendly and ready to help. Thank you Stoneridge for some of the best golf in Arizona.
Stone Ridge
This is my all time favorite course, every hole is unique and fun to play. Bring your A game
Beautiful and challenging
We have had great experiences at this course. Awesome and challenging with a great layout and views.
Bring your "A" game
Very tough course, bring your "A" Game
Restaurant has good food
I liked everything about this course
Awsome golf course, could move there just to play this course.
I love this course!!!
I like everything about this course - the friendly staff, pace of play, and the course is always in great shape from the tee boxes, fairways, and the greens which run fast and true. New years day I broke 80 for the first time here. If you're up for a challenge, a beautiful golf course with great views, this is the place!
Great change of pace from the Phoenix valley courses
Fairway to greens good condition, with challenging but fair layout. It was a 5 hour round trip but well worth the drive. No other course around has the elevation changes found here.
