Old Corkscrew Golf Club
About
Carved from forests of towering oaks and pines, Old Corkscrew Golf Club exhibits all of the superior characteristics that define Nicklaus Signature courses. The absence of houses around the golf course adds to the secluded and peaceful feel that is provided by the dense thickets of trees that surround it. Jack Nicklaus himself was a prominent presence throughout every phase of the course's construction, incorporating well balanced holes that vary in direction, look, and feel. Proper club selection will be greatly rewarded on this golf course. The fast-paced, undulating greens sit up to 20 feet above the lush, rolling fairways, which can create some tricky pin placements if you're not careful. Old Corkscrew Golf Club's fairways are rather generous, but they are framed by carefully sculpted bunkers. Several large ponds come into play on nearly every hole and there are also numerous sand traps strategically placed along the greensides.

Old Corkscrew: Thumbs Way, Way Up
Old Corkscrew is a first-rate golf experience. I had heard the setting had classic flair and old-time charm, but it was even better than expected. It looked and felt like a PGA Champions Tour venue — no housing, just nature — and played like it. Being a Jack Nicklaus Signature course, it is thoughtfully designed and challenging. Impeccably cared for, too. The starter informed us that the greens had a bit of fungi, but it was not a factor as the pins were situated to avoid it, Old Corkscrew is my new favourite course among the affordables in SWFL. Highly recommended.
Great Course!
My third time playing the course. Other than some problem spots on the greens, the course was Great! We will play again.
Challenging course w great pace of play
My buddy & I enjoyed our round @ Old Corkscrew.
Many holes take some thinking to play the course.
Water & Fairway bunkers increase the challenge.
Great course . Both Challenging and playable. Course is in great shape. During the season too expensive.
Great course
Most of course was in excellent condition with exception of some greens that were being repaired. Very challenging if you use some of the longer tees, which we did not as we are average players.
Nice to play it again
Have not played in a couple of years. Read reviews about greens not in the best shape but still gave it a shot. It’s is true some greens in bad shape with greens. Mostly on the front nine and not every hole. Pin placements try to steer you clear of the areas that are troubled. Love the layout of the course.
Greens in rough shape
Normally a great golf course but this time the greens were in rough shape. Tee boxes, fairways , rough and bunkers in great shape. Just wished I was forewarned. I may have played elsewhere this time.
Great Time at the 'Screw!
Always enjoy myself at this challenging but beautiful beast of a course! The course was in great condition and the greens have really come around from where they were four months ago. It's such a great layout especially without any homes or condos to detract from the experience. Definetly a golf course that I enjoy coming back to often!
GREENS
I understand fungus happens and it takes time to fix but please roll the greens….Super slow and unpredictable for that beautiful course…I’ve been playing Old Corkscrew for the past 5 years and I always brag about how fast the greens are…Unfortunately I will not be coming back when we visit Naples because there is a lot of nicer options and I hate to say it but Old Corkscrew is coming off the list for now….hopefully Greens get better soon as I love the course…
Love the course
Love the course, had several repaired greens but just moved ball if they effected putts. Had a scramble from the tips, which they definitely didn’t need to be hitting from. Play slowed down when we caught them.
Favorite in SW Florida
Never a bad day when you get to play Old Corkscrew. Terrific layout. Plenty of challenges. Several greens had rough spots. They were working to repair. Fairways were like carpet.
Always fun and challenging and no condos or houses in sight!
I have played her approx 30 times the staff’s always friendly and makes you feel welcome. The course is in great shape with one exception some of the greens have had some type of issue that requires treatment that killed some of grass on outside edges of some of the greens, that said it didn’t impact our play just moved the ball equally distance on some good grass.
Always a great day of golf here
Hot day conditions excellent all round . Greens a little patchy but good
Wonderful Time at Old Corkscrew
My recent playing experience at Old Corkscrew was quite enjoyable. I was a little apprehensive at first because of some of the mixed reviews I read online. I personally found the golf course to be in very good condition with the greens rolling true. There were a few sore spots on the greens that were being repaired. Overall, great time, excellent service, and we look forward to returning soon.
Condition
The greens were in in terrible condition and there was no reflection in the price or notification of the conditions. Also the gnats are horrific. I know this is completely out of their control, but it makes playing here not even an option.
The course was real nice as always however the greens were horrible and nobody including teeoff or the staff mentioned that . There were patches of dirt/sand . on every green . We drove an hour and half from Fort Lauderdale to play there . So it was unfair to us to drive all the way there and putt on greens like that
Don't waste your money
It's a disrespect to public golfers being charged $100 per round mid summer when the course conditions aren't any better than the local dog track. GREENS ARE ATROCIOUS. Hoffman Group trying to recoup the money spent buying the place.
