Old Corkscrew Golf Club

One of our favorite courses to play when we are down here every March. This time around was very disappointing as the greens were recently top dressed and they were mostly unplayable. Course conditions including bunkers looked neglected as well. Apparently the course is under new ownership and we’ll give it a pass. It would have been nice to reduce the green fees a little bit to compensate for the green conditions.

One of my favorite courses to play in the area. Definitely a challenging layouts. Tee boxes and fairways were in good shape, the greens were not. Probably wouldn’t pay $200+ for a round right now because of the greens.

Greens covered in sand, almost unplayable, we should have been notified somehow before we got to first green or better before booking a very expensive tee time. Heard that course is changing ownership in April and they are cutting corners until then. Course layout is great, very challenging and fair.

Fantastic layout, fair play. If you were in trouble it was deserved. Tee blocks and fairways in good shape. Greens were sub par throughout course. First five greens are in rough shape, had to move ball from certain spots on green. Not currently worth 250 USD with the shape of greens.

Course came highly recommended, and the layout was great. But seriously, you can't charge $300 for greens that were top dressed and so slow they were unputtable. At least let us know beforehand, as this was like showing up to find greens that had been punched. Also, where on earth is 2 hot dogs, a double gin and tonic and a double vodka tonic $63? The conditions ruined our day.

Old Corkscrew is a great course and ordinarily we wouldn’t baulk at paying over $400 however the greens were covered in sand dressing so the rounds should have been much cheaper.

If it were not for the discounted rate that I received from GolfPass membership, I would have been disappointed with Old Corkscrew. I played 6-7 rounds there last spring and the course conditions were impeccable. 2022 was a different story. The first two greens had large areas of burnout that were somewhat hidden by an oversees/sand combination. . There were a number of other greens with burnout as well. Granted there hasn’t been much rain lately, but all the other courses I play have the same challenges and have managed much better. The fairways and tee boxes were in fine shape. The course layout is likely the most challenging public course in the Collier/Lee county area. If you want to test your game, this is the place.

Really enjoyed Old Corkscrew, interesting layout, pace of play excellent, warm up facilities great, staff was cordial and helpful, price was steep for what we got, but was inline with other Estero facilities, would play again

We had the course to ourselves. Play in just over 3 hours.

This place is tough, you must be able to fly it over the trouble and stop the ball,

Very few shots where the ball can be run onto the green

3 Short par 4's which tempt your driver! DON'T HIT THE DRIVER!!!

I would play again and love the fact they send out 2 some's early in the AM.

A TRUE GEM !!!!

This course use to be a must play for our Naples golf trips. This time we found the tee boxes rock hard and beat up, the fairways brown and bare, and the greens were very inconsistent. Very disappointing and not worth the price. Too bad for such a nice course layout.

This is wicked challenging. Not my best score but it is the best course and a great value when you compare it to other courses in the area. Narrow fairways with hazards and turns. Small perfectly kept greens. Killer warm up areas. Definitely a pro course. Bring extra balls. Play the whites because of the distance or control you need. Same from blue - if you should be playing the blues and you play the white you will not score better because you you need to be able to control your distance. Or visa versa . Wherever you play from it is set up so you have to be able to carry to a locations. You need the right club on your approach shot. Challenging if you ball fades of the t or draws. Don’t miss the green because some challenge will be waiting. I played with four players varying skills mine being the worst (except putting which saved me). Everyone loved it but we all scored higher than normal. Its a home course for d 1 college golf team and a qualifying course I believe for the PGA. Play it its really worth it.

This course could be spectacular but it’s lack of attention to details are obvious. I think it is relying on the past. It was once a must play in south west Florida. It’s a difficult and challenging course that should adjust it’s prices to admit it has slipped in recent years. Not a bad experience but not memorable.
