About
Carved from forests of towering oaks and pines, Old Corkscrew Golf Club exhibits all of the superior characteristics that define Nicklaus Signature courses. The absence of houses around the golf course adds to the secluded and peaceful feel that is provided by the dense thickets of trees that surround it. Jack Nicklaus himself was a prominent presence throughout every phase of the course's construction, incorporating well balanced holes that vary in direction, look, and feel. Proper club selection will be greatly rewarded on this golf course. The fast-paced, undulating greens sit up to 20 feet above the lush, rolling fairways, which can create some tricky pin placements if you're not careful. Old Corkscrew Golf Club's fairways are rather generous, but they are framed by carefully sculpted bunkers. Several large ponds come into play on nearly every hole and there are also numerous sand traps strategically placed along the greensides.

Challenging, but fair, with topsy turvy greens
Fist time at Old Corkscrew. First off the staff was terrific, including the bagdrop, proshop, starter and bag attendant after the round. The course is very challening, (151 slope from the back tees), but if you chose the right tees, it is certainlly playable and, in fact, was alot of fun.

Are you ready for a challenge?
Old Corkscrew will test every facet of your game. With firm and fast greens getting up and down for par is really hard to do. But good shots are rewarded! A great mix of holes, long and short. And adriveabke par four! The 1st time I played here I tight it was too hard. Now that I've employed better strategy I love the challenge.

For the golfers that wants a challenge
Old Corkscrew was everything I had heard. Challenging on every level. Don't play tees beyond your capability. If you can't hit a high 6 iron that drops and stops, you are going to have a lot of double bogies or worse on your card. Playing shorter tees than you are used to may be the way to fully enjoy the course. Finally, just because you are on the green, doesn't mean you have an easy 2 putt. God forbid they ever let these greens roll at 12. I will definitely go back again and see if I can improve on my score!
Great track in great shape
Only drawback are the greens which were recently top dressed and EXTREMELY tough. Pin placements were a little ridiculous (stay away from Wednesdays I guess). Everything else very good. Fairways were plush with grass to hit off of instead of what some clubs have which is very tight grass. Plan on shooting above your handicap!
Challenging Course
Choose your tee to choose the degree of challenge. Great layout with no housing. Many greens are elevated and extremely trapped. If you play a tee beyond your abilities you will be punished.
