About
Carved from forests of towering oaks and pines, Old Corkscrew Golf Club exhibits all of the superior characteristics that define Nicklaus Signature courses. The absence of houses around the golf course adds to the secluded and peaceful feel that is provided by the dense thickets of trees that surround it. Jack Nicklaus himself was a prominent presence throughout every phase of the course's construction, incorporating well balanced holes that vary in direction, look, and feel. Proper club selection will be greatly rewarded on this golf course. The fast-paced, undulating greens sit up to 20 feet above the lush, rolling fairways, which can create some tricky pin placements if you're not careful. Old Corkscrew Golf Club's fairways are rather generous, but they are framed by carefully sculpted bunkers. Several large ponds come into play on nearly every hole and there are also numerous sand traps strategically placed along the greensides.

Great Challenge and Layout!
Not your plain vanilla golf course here. Fantastic layout with an abundance of pine lined fairways, also a bonus feature of being a "core" golf course with no homes and condos on the property ... a rarity to find in SW Florida.

Conditions are very poor, especially for rhe price. They never seem to improve.

This course is not for the faint of heart,. To shoot par on this course you need to be able to do all the things Jack can (could) do.

Pristine!
The staff and conditions of this course are excellent. You will not be disappointed. It’s most difficult so if you are not a low handicap you will get frustrated. Greens are very quick and you need to make shots. Highly recommend.

Course is a genuine test
The course is challenging and helps to play with someone with local knowledge.
There are some false fronts and as with most challenging courses a right or left miss.
Greens are subtle , but true
You need your A game and will enjoy it more having played it before.
Covid meant no divots were replaceable for treated as GUR, but staffers were following us around to sand the divots..

Tough day
Course was packed very slow play was waiting on every hole very tough course greens small hard fast domed not flat at all

Friendly Club
It was my first chance to see Old Corkscrew. What a great track.
Nice feel from the start. The staff as well as the people out to play, all seemed to be glad they were there.
I played from around 6600 yds and found it pretty demanding of the tee ball. The green complexes were interesting and varied, and although very challenging, punished a miss less than the tee ball.
I gotta say the most pleasant aspect of Old Corkscrew is the preserve setting, you’re definitely not playing in a residential development.
