Lake Presidential Golf Club
About
Lake Presidential Golf Club is one of Maryland's most popular public courses. It is a challenging championship layout that is player friendly enough to accommodate a wide range of skill levels. It stands out from run-of-the-mill municipal courses with exceptional conditions from the tees to the greens. The layout offers a diverse mix of holes that will have golfers using every club in their bag. There are some especially interesting par 3s that are visible but with enough hazards to make them a challenge. Houses border the front nine holes but they are absent on the back nine. The fairways on the last nine holes are densely lined with mature trees. The golf course finishes with an enjoyable par 5 that plays over a lake. It can be reached in two with a little skill and accuracy.

The Best Golf Course in P.G County.. Period!
I’m so disappointed with how high the price is to play golf these days, and some of these courses are absolutely a ‘dog track’ .. but not here at Lake Presidential.. the price is very reasonable and the course layout & conditions are a top notch .. don’t take my words for it just go experience it for yourself ..
happy golfing !
Don’t play here
They’ve started packing far too many tee times on since they’ve been under new ownership. The starter had no clue what was going on and we were delayed nearly half an hour just to tee off. Took us 2 hours to get to the 5th hole. Will likely never play here again.
Never Disappointed
My second round of the year, and also my first round playing this course since I played last winter season. Don’t need to go into too much in detail because simply speaking, I personally think Lake Presidential golf club is One of the Finest golf course in the D.M.V area 👍👍
Don’t take my word for it, go out try and experience it for yourself! Have a good round! ⛳️
Needs some TLC
The course seems to be struggling with the volume of business. When I played early afternoon the bar/restaurant was closed and there was no cart service. Fairways were decent (there were some bad spots but did not affect play) and the greens were bumpy with lots of unrepaired ball marks.
Wide fairways and challenging greens
I will say when I checked in, the guy told me to at least roll a few putts on the practice green because they're different than most places. It rained the night before so I was expecting them to be slow and it took almost the entire round to get to the point of trusting having hit a putt harder than I thought I would need to.The greens rolled nicely, just slow for me. I had a 6am teetime so there was nobody else around and I got to hit two balls on each hole and play at my own pace. For the most part I found the fairways to be wide enough for my hitting. There are plenty of elevation changes and a couple of blind shots, but a nice challenging course. The only issue I saw and it has nothing to do with the course itself, is that players aren't filling divots with sand. I didn't see a Ranger, so my suggestion would be to get a Ranger and if the play is at a good pace, then the Ranger can fill divots as a part of his daily routine.
Incredibly nice staff. Fun golf course
I've played like presidential several times and each time the staff has gone out of the way to be helpful, nice and professional. The course itself is wonderful. It's very difficult. I will use all my clubs. It gets a lot of play so the greens are pretty rough but they're still good enough. The only thing I don't like is because of the slope of many of the fairways. You can't take the cart into the fairway. I understand but it's some of it seems unnecessary
Good course
The course conditions were great but the greens were slower than normal, probably due to the recent rain. We teed off at 5:30am, the first ones out. As we're coming up to the 9th tee, we see a twosome on the 10th tee box teeing off. I don't understand why this course always sends players off the back which causes delays for everyone. It's ridiculous to do this. They need to stop doing this so golfers would be more willing to give this course a try. Pace of play has always been the biggest complaint here and the reason I always try for the super early tee time. Management needs to fix this. After a couple holes on the back nine, we just skipped the twosome in front and had smooth sailing the rest of the round.
Slow Pace
The course is a pretty decent course, however there is no starter and no marshal to move the groups along. We were 25 minutes behind on the front 9. My whole group went into the pro shop and got rain checks for the back nine due to slow play.
What a waste of a great golf course.
This course could be one of the best in Maryland if it were managed better. I won't come back until I see enough reviews that they've fixed their pace of play. Its clear they have no respect for their customers as you can read in review after review. From them booking tee times 5 minutes apart, to the lack of any Marshall, to them regularly closing the clubhouse in the late afternoon so that anyone still out on the course will have no access to bathrooms, water, or a place to cool off in the summer. It just shows a pattern of behavior that maximizing profit will always trump customer experience. It's true that folks are often playing the wrong tee boxes here, or spending way too long looking for wayward balls, or even playing multiple tee balls while people wait behind them (yes I've watched this happen in front of me on hole after hole from the same golfer), ultimately its up to the course management to allow this sort of thing to take place. Clean it up Lake Presidential, you could be so much better than this.
What time of day was it?
