Lake Presidential Golf Club
About
Lake Presidential Golf Club is one of Maryland's most popular public courses. It is a challenging championship layout that is player friendly enough to accommodate a wide range of skill levels. It stands out from run-of-the-mill municipal courses with exceptional conditions from the tees to the greens. The layout offers a diverse mix of holes that will have golfers using every club in their bag. There are some especially interesting par 3s that are visible but with enough hazards to make them a challenge. Houses border the front nine holes but they are absent on the back nine. The fairways on the last nine holes are densely lined with mature trees. The golf course finishes with an enjoyable par 5 that plays over a lake. It can be reached in two with a little skill and accuracy.

Amazing Course but Slow Play
Took a twosome 4.5 hours to finish due to slow play. Challenging yet getable course with wide fairways and moderate paced greens. Would play again if pace was faster.
Splish Splash
630 AM tee time
Course was in relatively good condition considering they got about couple inches of rain the day before- but was it saturated!
And we all know what that means - CART PATH ONLY
Fun round though, greens got quicker as the morning progressed.
Pace of Play
Played late on a Sunday afternoon and the course did not have a cart available for us (after paying for a cart). When we finally got a cart we were greeted by a 3 group back up on the first tee box. We teed off 34 mins after a tee time and played the front 9 in 3hrs and 15 mins. At the 5 hour mark we called it quits and skipped the final 4 holes. Pace of play was a serious issue
Weekends golfer - not worth it
Ran out of available golf carts. Started 35 minutes late of tee times due to backed up 1 st tee. Pace of play for 9 was 3:15. Greens were covered in unrepaired divots.
Staff in pro shop
The course was in good shape overall but the course is tough to play when it is cart path only because it is hilly and it didn’t help that the staff in the pro shop did not mention a thing about the fairways had been roped off so you had to stay on cart path if they would have told me about the course being roped off I wouldn’t have played the course at $75. It wasn’t worth the $75.
The Greens are Slow
The course layout has always been one of my favorites. I honestly can say it has changed a lot over the years. The fact that the greens roll at about a 7 and you have to smash every put just to get it to the hole is frustrating. The greens definitely do not get the love and attention to detail that they once did under the previous ownership. I refuse to pay 100 dollars for a track with greens in this condition. It’s the reason I only play here when I catch the hot deal
A superb experience as usual
If I could afford it, this is the course to play every week.
Nice Course for in MD
It's a great design and good layout. Needed a starting and marshal patrolling for pace of play.
Left #1, played 10 and 11, back to 1 -6, then 11-18, then 6-9. Finished before sun went down... I think the 4 groups infront of us are still on the course!
Needs water on course too, but in communist MD where water jugs must have covid
Fool me once...
Have not played here in over 2 years as I swore off this course due to a six hour round and poor conditions. Decided to try 9 holes on a weekday afternoon. How bad can it be...worse than I could have ever imagined. I will say the course conditions are WAY better now but the Pace of play is UNBELIEVABLE slow. 2 hrs and 45 for 9 holes. Our tee time was 5:45. What they failed to tell me was league play had times until 5:30. Got to the first tee and they had an A group and B group on one for the league. Guess they thought 15 minutes is enough time to both groups off. Waited on every hole. No marshall in site. Beverage cart saw us on one and said she would not be back as no one from the league every buys anything.
After reading the many reviews prior to writing this I am not the only one complaining. What gets me is the management is not doing anything about it. I guess why should they as the course is still packed and people are paying high dollars to play. Might be another couple years before I go back.
Great course for the right price
Lake Presidential has always been a favorite to play but the price is normally too much. I found a great deal on GolfNow, which should be the normal price due to them now charging for range balls. I believe range at any course should be free with a round of golf.
Course Etiquette
Too many ball marks on greens and deep divots not repaired. Maybe some players think leaving their ball mark on the greens is a remembrance of them actually hitting the green. What is the point of having a course Marshall driving around if they won't tell a twosome keep up to the foursome in front of them.
Nice course
Very nice course, challenging... Rained heavy 2 days before I played.. Fairways were very wet, but greens drained very well
Course is in Great Condition
Lake President is back to prestige condition- Great Job Adam!
Nice Layout
Visually attractive course but very challenging especially #5. Great view on #8 approach.
Pace of play
Played this course multiple times and pace of play is always an issue. However my most recent experience was the worst I've ever had at any golf course. My foursome had an afternoon tee time (3:50pm) and we didn't tee off until 4:15 due to no available carts. Once we got our carts, it then took us 3 hours and 20 minutes to play 9 holes because the course was severely overbooked. We made the turn at 7:15pm and when we went to request a rain check, they would not honor it. Unacceptable and unfair to those who paid to play and were then punished by no fault of their own. This course has a lot of potential, however the negligible course management has to be addressed.
Poorly managed
I had a tee time in the afternoon and when I got there, they said they ran out of carts. I came back at the time I was supposed to tee off and they still didn't have any carts. Another guy was there waiting for a cart and his tee time was 20 minutes before mine.
I went in to ask for a raincheck, which they reluctantly gave me. When I complained about the first tee box being so backed up and no carts, she said "you know it's a holiday and a lot of people are playing". I have played many other courses on a holiday and have never had my tee time be 30 minutes after my scheduled time.
