About
Lake Presidential Golf Club is one of Maryland's most popular public courses. It is a challenging championship layout that is player friendly enough to accommodate a wide range of skill levels. It stands out from run-of-the-mill municipal courses with exceptional conditions from the tees to the greens. The layout offers a diverse mix of holes that will have golfers using every club in their bag. There are some especially interesting par 3s that are visible but with enough hazards to make them a challenge. Houses border the front nine holes but they are absent on the back nine. The fairways on the last nine holes are densely lined with mature trees. The golf course finishes with an enjoyable par 5 that plays over a lake. It can be reached in two with a little skill and accuracy.

Good course, but no course monitoring/management made for a terrible experience
Had an enjoyable round at the start, but after 3-4 holes, play was dirt slow due to a foursome in front of us which clearly did not know how to keep up with pace of play and would not let our threesome play through. There were at least two other groups behind us impacted on every hole from 4-10. There were no course marshalls anywhere to be found, so we called the clubhouse and was told they would send someone out... but we never saw anyone other than the beverage cart. We ended up skipping the 12th hole to get around them, as did at least one other group. I play about 30-40 rounds a year and this was the worst I'd experienced in years. Not planning to play this course again, will opt for one that monitors play better, or at all!
Great Course but pace of play needs to be improved
The course was in very good shape and thr greens were also rolling well. However the pace of play (6 hrs 15m) is not acceptable- anywhere. Two of my foursome said they will never return after being late to their kids' events that nobody would think they would be late for since thry started at 7 and we teed off at 112pm. They had 2 marshals on the course but the course was still backed up. Credit does go that they told us the first 5 holes were slow, but then it continued the rest of the way. Over 3 hrs for each nine holes. Wow. Lots of unhappy golfers out there and unhappy spouses at home. They need to get their act together. Even with the long round we only saw the beverage cart 3 x the entire round.
Good day on the course
Pace of play was excellent because the threat of storms kept everyone off the course.
Course was in good condition except where players didn't replace/fill divots and the greens were abused with unrepaired ball marks. I guess people felt that since they paid so much to play someone else should be fixing the ball marks.
Several tee boxes were being resodded but that wasn't a problem because there were several to choose from on each hole.
The snack bar was not open so no food but you could get beer and soft drinks in the golf shop. No beverage cart on the course.
The sun came out on the 19th hole so it was a good day all in all.
What a round…
Course is difficult which is cool, staff overbooks tee times and the marshall doesnt push people through. Took almost 6 hours for ny round of a TWOSOME. Course was sending people out every 10 minutes and by hole 4 there was a 4 group backup. Spoke to the GM and he’s just suchhhhh a friendly guy. For 80$ I won’t be back and won’t miss the staff at all. Hope management gets better.
Worth the money
About my 3rd-4rd nice challenge very enjoyable for a 15 handicap player will be back
Great course, terrible pace of play
The course was in great shape from tee boxes to greens; but bunkers were unplayable ( not raked, hard packed, some with water). Unfortunately the pace of play was terrible - 5 1/2 hours to play 18 holes on a beautiful day. No marshals in sight, just the cart girl. No food or beverage service available in the clubhouse. Veterans rate for greens fees was very good but I guess the old folks move slowly.
My favorite
This is my favorite course but I’m still to triumph!
Hard to score on these greens, maybe next time!
Course has a great layout and is in excellent condition, I enjoyed playing it. I also played with 3 local men that knew the course and were awesome to play with, they all had a good game. I hit the ball well, just could not make putts here, maybe next time. After a 3 par in a row start, 10 straight bogies, ouch! Shot plus 1 on the back though, yay! I highly recommend the course, very challenging and in great shape.
Hot Tuesday
Got a hot deal on a hot day. Course was great. Got a little backed up and slow after 7 holes looked like two groups of seniors were playing an 8 some. Had to wait a lot on the back. Other than that it was a great day to play.
I liked the course
The main thing that surprises is that my $99.00 tee time eventually cost me 121 with extra charges
5 holes in 2 hours started at 8am
If you insists on packing the tee sheet than you better have a Marshall pushing groups on the course. There is no excuse for 5 holes in 2 hours. Didn’t see the cart girl once in that time. I don’t even need to mention conditions…. Can’t comment since I mostly stood around on tee boxes. Awful, won’t go back and don’t recommended it.
