Lake Presidential Golf Club

I hadn’t played there for years due to the conditions of the course was so bad for the asking price. The course was in great condition. The staff was attentive with great attitudes. No cart person but that was ok. I’m surprised that that don’t have electronic course carts.

I enjoy my early round of golf my tee time now 6:45 I got out at 6:30. The maintenance crew stop when I now about o hit my ball. I would go back for a early round of play.

Great course and great golfers. Pace was the challenge. A little more marshalls needed to push the golfers to stay on pace.

I am heart broken to see how this beautiful course fell into such horrible shape within 2 months. The course was in absolute pristine shape last year and this spring under Troon’s management. I golfed here often and totally enjoyed it. But even since the course was sold and new management took over, it went downhill so quickly. I don’t even know know where to start to tell you. So so so sad.

Play the course all the time. Spend a lot of time on the driving range also and was the slowest round ever played because 1 group 2 holes ahead of us would not let anyone play through. No marshal to keep pace of play. No groups ahead of them. Could have finished all 18 but only got in 12 holes.

The good: It's one of my favorite layouts in the DC area. The scenery is nice and the holes are interesting. Plenty of places to lose a ball, though. Most landing areas from the men's (blue) tee are 240-260, so you may end up pulling 3-wood several times on the tee.

The bad: Conditions. They aren't terrible, but they aren't great. Fairways are littered with divots, greens are fine but slow (does nobody repair their pitch marks anymore??), and the bunkers quite frankly are terrible.

The ugly: PACE. Now the course is not easy, and there are plenty of penalty strokes to be had for the novice player. I would imagine pace is a constant battle here. But the fact we were warned about pace at check-in tells me that they either a) overbook the course, b) have gotten complacent on policing pace or, c) likely a bit of both.

I very badly want to love this course. But the conditions are just always mediocre to poor. A $50 twilight rate is great value for the money. I could never imagine spending $90-$110 for a 5 hour round in these conditions. Not to mention, range balls are somehow NOT included, there is no cart GPS, and yardages on the course are rarely marked. Something's gotta give, guys.

The course appeared to overbook for a large group in the morning. So started the round 15 minutes late, and finished front 9 in 3 hours. It made me feel like I had to play faster to stay ahead of the group behind, which made the round miserable. Course was nice to play, but it’s twice as expensive as it should be. Staff was friendly, which I appreciated. Wasn’t thrilled with the marshal saying I needed to play “ready golf”, despite having to wait for the group in front on every hole — which makes ready golf generally pointless.

Pace of play was stop and go. When we were waived through the group ahead of us on 12 there was no one ahead of us. Challenging course. Green tees ahead of the regular white tees were not listed on the card and seniors should consider playing from those as holes 5,6,7,8, 13 and 15 are long if you do not hit a long and straight tee shot. They will wear you down.

This course is always a nice challenge for me. The greens and fairways were in great condition. Fun course. Distance marks out there but a little hard to find

This was the worst experience I've had playing in the DMV. Front 9 took three hours and 15 minutes and the GM said this was acceptable to them. The refused to offer a refund even for 9 holes on an already overpriced round. Will definitely never play here again and would direct others to stay away.

The 2021 gotta be the best year for Lane Presidential since its inception back in 2008. From Tee box to the Greens, the course is in awesome condition! .. I know there are few bunkers and some areas on the fairway or around the rough areas needs some improvements, but we constantly see ground crews out there up keeping the course. This golf course gotta be one of the top golf golf courses in the dmv area .. go check it out! you won’t be disappointed!
