About
Lake Presidential Golf Club is one of Maryland's most popular public courses. It is a challenging championship layout that is player friendly enough to accommodate a wide range of skill levels. It stands out from run-of-the-mill municipal courses with exceptional conditions from the tees to the greens. The layout offers a diverse mix of holes that will have golfers using every club in their bag. There are some especially interesting par 3s that are visible but with enough hazards to make them a challenge. Houses border the front nine holes but they are absent on the back nine. The fairways on the last nine holes are densely lined with mature trees. The golf course finishes with an enjoyable par 5 that plays over a lake. It can be reached in two with a little skill and accuracy.

Golfer Reviews
Nice to know
One of the nice things about being a newcomer to the area is the opportunity to play “new” courses in the immediate area. One of the not so nice things is unfamiliarity with said courses (blind shots ,preferred shot placement, pin settings etc.) That being said, the course allows scoring opportunities for a mid handicap like myself. I kinda feltthe slope rating from the whites was a little low but now that I have a round under my belt it’s likely appropriate .Very accommodating staff and mid-week pace of play was standard. This is a place that I’m putting on my replay list.
PS....To all course superintendents everywhere...please for the love of Go...can’t say that...please for the love of golf put the rakes back in the bunkers
Good but....
Course is looking great, but uneven greens after aeration. Back nine greens in much better shape after aeration, but front 9 had too much top dressing to justify the rate charged. Will come back maybe after the greens have grown in from aeration.
The course is long and hard. It’s Alex beautifying features such as flowers bushes etc. the course was in morally good shape.
a day of golf
weather was beautiful course was beautiful, pace of play was great at 8:30am
Other reviews are correct
Lake Presidential is a beautiful, challenging course. We teed off 18 during golden hour and it was an incredible sight. However I don’t think I would play here again, simply based on the value. We knew aeration would be an issue, however I was expecting much better conditions for the price. We may try again in the summer, but I recommend giving this place a shot yourself. You may get better conditions.
Rewarding course
The greens were just aerated but this is a very well kept course
Back closed with no notice
Back nine closed, could not buy beer computers down, kitchen was closed. Cart died and needed a act of congress for them to bring new cart.
Nice and Challenging
Overall a nice course but second time playing it and its pace of play has been slow each time. Many holes are cart path only after even a light rain making it slower as getting to your ball can be a challenging walk up and down the rolling hills.
The rolling hills make the course itself pretty and fun to play. Very long for the average golfer, even if you're playing from the whites. Many par 4's you'll be laying up if you dont hit long. Greens are in good shape and fairways are above average.
Overall fun but challenging course.
Top Maryland public golf course
Fast green. Several holes with water. Few holes with large elevations. Play winter time/weekdays/twilight will cost less.
Thank you so much for your feedback. We look forward to having you play with us again.
Great track, overpriced
If you’re charging $100 the greens should all be immaculate and rolling med-fast. Have been here a few times and it’s fun to play but not worth the money. They don’t even have gps screens on the carts. There’s 7 other courses at around $70 that are in much better shape.
Thank you for your feedback. Sorry the course was not up to your standards, aerification is happening this week. Come visit us have the course heals and I am sure you will be impressed.
Thanks so much for your feedback. We hope you do come out and play again soon.
