Windswept Dunes Golf Course

I had never played here before but now that I have I will play here each year when I vacation in the area. Fairways are very wide with generous greens. This is a resort style course so losing a ball is difficult to do. So this is a relaxing round if you play your yardage. If you want a challenge then you can play all the way back! Highly recommend!

Nature preserve views had the course mostly to ourselves 2pm hot deal makes it a great value but would pay full price plenty of water around the course

This was our third time playing and we enjoy coming here each year as our golf getaway from the beach. Conditions were excellent from tee to green. Several sets of tees to use depending on skill level. Tough but fair test of golf and enjoy the round even if I’m not playing my best. Would love to play this place more frequently, but alas we have to return to the real world. Highly recommend if you are in the Destin or Panama City area.

My son and I gave the 7800 yd track from the back a go. What a test, in a good way. Receptive green, bailout options, and during peak vacation season no one in front or behind. It’s out of the way from the beach, but very much worth the drive. The time spent driving is saved playing as pressure is light. Great staff, really nice practice facilities -: well. We’ll be back!

Have not played this course since last year. It is in great condition. Fairways and greens in excellent condition. It was a HOT afternoon and we were only players out. Course had cold towels available to help cool us down. Placement of fairway sand traps and grass knobs make you think about where you hit your tee shots. Will be back to play again.

Tee to green Course challenges your game, fair but challenging setup

First time playing Windswept. Course conditions were great and I felt it was worth the money. Arrived early to hit on the range, plenty of space to warm up. Interesting fact that I liked is that you can’t see any holes other than the one you are playing. Wide and long fairways.

My only complaint, which is irrelevant, is the Pro Shop had limited quantity of apparel to purchase. But that doesn’t get in the way of a good round of golf.

Course was in excellent shape! Greens rolled slower than expected. Cart display readouts were a nice touch and useful for a first timer playing the track. Played during 20mph winds so it was another level of tough but made for a cooler day.

Windswept Dunes was a wonderful golf experience. The greens were challenging, but fair. The fairways are extremely wide for us mid/high handicappers, and there are 5 sets of tees so you can play wherever your skill level is best suited. It look like quite a challenge from the tips. It was the most expensive round of golf I’ve ever played, but the experience was top notch. I will definitely play here again if we are in the area.

Went to this course while on vacation after reading reviews. Course was in perfect condition. Fairways are plush. The greens rolled great. Tee boxes were freshly mowed. We were able to tee off at 6:00am and finished the round before 8:45. Practice area was very nice as well. Staff at the clubhouse were very friendly! I would definitely recommend this course to anyone. Better experience at Windswept than at Kelly, and Indian bayou.

You need to play here. I manage a golf course in Texas, our family comes to Panama City Beach for vacation every year.

We played this course for the first time last year, normally play a few places during our trip. This year, we played Windswept twice.

Course is incredibly managed, in immaculate condition, and offers a variety of tees to fit any type of game. If you’re a beginner, you can enjoy it. If you’re a plus handicap, it offers a great challenge for you.

I can promise you will not regret choosing this course.

Starter today was a little rude, would be the ONLY negative. But hey, he probably has a bunch of rude people to deal with so he gets a pass.

The course is a little off the beaten path but we find it well worth the drive to get there. The course was in great shape. It can be as challenging as you want distance wise and the greens are very challenging. The fairways are ample and I think the is why the course rating is pretty low from the middle tees and up. It’s ok because you can move back and play from up to 7,700 yards (we played from 6,500). There is a tee for all skill/distance levels. Most times pace of play is very good. You can tee off starting at 6 am. Highly recommend playing here if you’re in the area.

Course is what I call a bombers course. Wide fairways with a number of tee boxes. Everything great except a little pricey. I think they would benefit from doing dynamic pricing or daily rates to up their amount of participants.

Beautiful course and setting, just a bit off the travel track. We will be back again because we still feel it is worth the 45 minute drive from Destin.

A must play for any golfer in the Panama City Beach/Destin area.

This course is awesome. Every part of it is in great shape. Layout is pretty good. However, I don't feel like it is a $95 course. At that rate, I would expect a nice clubhouse and better amenities. And please, you could at least include range balls. Twilight tee times are not much cheaper than full price.

I will give credit to them for having a ranger who actually does his job!

We’ve been coming to this area in August for a number of years. Have tried many courses up and down the coastline around San Destin and Panama City Beach. We decided we’d try this even though it was a little farther away from us. Wow, are we glad we did. This is a fantastic course that I don’t think a lot of people know about. It’s got length, it’s got beautiful fairways, it’s fair and the greens are challenging. No gimmicks here, just sound golf. Don’t hesitate, just go. You will thank me.

Played this course while on vacation on 6.21.2021. I hadn't played here before, but I remember checking it out online on previous trips to the Destin area. I remember always being kind of hesitant because it's about 10-15 miles north of Santa Rosa and we always thought this was kind of out of the way. Well, with the traffic situation in Destin and Sandestin, if you're staying near Santa Rosa or Rosemary Beach, this is a no brainer, as you'll likely make your trip faster here & back than you would going further into the Destin area.

This course really was a great all around experience. The course itself is very well manicured and each hole presented a unique challenge, which I really enjoy. The tees range from under 6k yards to nearly 8k yards, so whether you're a bomber or a little shorter off the tee, you can find a set that fits your eye.

The only knocks I have on Windswept are the range and the clubhouse. I would expect for a $100 green fee to have some range balls included. I think that's a fair ask for that price tag. The only other thing I found lacking at Windswept was the clubhouse. It just seemed to be a little underwhelming given how nice the golf course is. But let's be clear, neither of those things impact the quality of golf when you get out on the course. I would absolutely recommend this course to anyone and I will happily play it again the next time I am in the area.
