Mansfield National Golf Club
About
Mansfield National Golf Club's tees range from 5,263 to 6,850 yards and the course plays to a par 72. The large, undulating greens make for inviting targets. The fairways are lined by every type of tree imaginable, with bunkers looming to suck in tee shots. Scores can add up on holes 11 and 16, with the lake coming into play, but water comes into play on only four holes total. The best hole is no. 5, considered one of the toughest par 3s in north Texas. It plays a very 3-wood-like 233 yards into a tough green that's hard to hold with the wind at your back. Located just south of Arlington Mansfield National also offers FootGolf, a combination of soccer and golf.

Mansfield National Golf
Played Mansfield National on 26 April 2020. T-Time was 8:10. I played as a single and was paired with a threesome. Pace of play was average we were slowed only occasionally and finished around 4 hours. Greens are in good shape however noticed some divots in the greens. Green speeds were average to slow. Overall a good round. Had fun. Mansfield National allowed the use of sanitized carts. I did not have to walk!
The course was in fantastic shape. We played in 2.5 hours. We could still ride in a cart and you saw staff cleaning each individual cart just prior and right after to people getting in and out.
Average
Typical Muni. Slow greens, rock hard fairways with very little grass and clumps of rocks in the bunkers. Course needs some TLC and to space tee times
Great round
Great round at Mansfield National. Staff very friendly and two different employees thanked us for coming out as we were leaving. Greens in amazing condition and look forward to playing again. They are taking precautions because of the coronavirus. Go to their website to see what rules they have implemented. Thank you for staying open and keeping players safe.
The new abnormal
We were looking forward to going all the way down to MNGC that afternoon for a tee time in somewhat dicey weather conditions and upon arrival found only maybe 4 cars total in the parking lot. Wow! I said to my partner, “ wonder if they are even open? ( there had been a rainstorm earlier in the morning- ). I decided to park and walk up to Pro Shop to check in. As I opened the door to the shop and entered ( a small pro shop maybe a 1,000 sq ft ) overheard the guys behind the counter laugh out and say to each other “watch out hear comes a corona virus carrier” ...or something to that effect since I’m an over 65 senior. After giving the the one gentleman my name and tee time he mumbled and literally threw the cart key across the counter at me., saying “ cart paths only”. WOW. Got it.
Saw another couple of groups on the course that day, conditions were a little wet, but still playable
Off season maintenance on the golf course looks to be minimal. Some clearing on the long par 3 on the front is a positive and should enhance speed of play
Still enjoy the lay out and has some good finishing holes on the back nine.
Hoping they don’t shut daily fee and public golf...
Thanks!
Good course and great price!
If you can play it before the vegetation comes in, do!
Nothing bad here for this time of year. The pace moves along like a train station.
Needs maintenance
Layout is a bit confusing. Areas between fairways need serious cleanup. Traps have very little or no sand.
Rough
This course would be a lot better if they would soften up the fairways. They’ve obviously spent more time on the greens, which is nice but if you can’t hit a decent shot because the fairway is as hard as rock, you can’t utilize the greens. Water the fairways
Fun round
Course was in great shape for the winter. Overseeded greens rolled good
Winter golf at Mansfield National
Great round pace of play was excellent. Finished the round in 3.5 hrs. Greens are in good condition however slower than expected. My group enjoyed the round. Shot 81 with two birdies and a bunch of bogeys. Good round and good weather: high around 60.
Good pace
Cold
Warmed up
Staff was great
Bad weather day before and greens could not be mowed. Trouble with speed but got use to it.
Greens were fair and good sized.
Great Course for Juniors
My foursome consisted of my father-in-law, 15 year old son and 10 year old daughter. We played 18 holes in 4 hours, 10 minutes. Red forward tees are perfect for juniors learning the game. We kept pace with group in front of us and two-some behind us said they had not complaints about pace of play. Only feedback is to have a good junior rate so I can continue to play with my kids.
