Mansfield National Golf Club
About
Mansfield National Golf Club's tees range from 5,263 to 6,850 yards and the course plays to a par 72. The large, undulating greens make for inviting targets. The fairways are lined by every type of tree imaginable, with bunkers looming to suck in tee shots. Scores can add up on holes 11 and 16, with the lake coming into play, but water comes into play on only four holes total. The best hole is no. 5, considered one of the toughest par 3s in north Texas. It plays a very 3-wood-like 233 yards into a tough green that's hard to hold with the wind at your back. Located just south of Arlington Mansfield National also offers FootGolf, a combination of soccer and golf.

Good local course
I always enjoy playing here and now even more so since they've cut back on the vegetation ( it was much tougher.) Nothing to complain about actually. Wished we lived closer!
Fun course and great value
Enjoyed the course. Took my dad and his girlfriend to play it. Course was in okay shape. It had rained that weekend so I'm giving them a pass a little bit. Like the layout as well.
Good Value, Good Course
The weather was what made it... high of 89 in late July?? Wow! Plus, my son shot a -2 ... 70... round of his life. Really like the course.. greens a bit bumpy, but rest in good shape. The range was closed, so just gave average on that part. Fairly wide open, but there is difficulty and danger on the course with water and trees. Finished in about 4 hours.. not too bad.
Over it
Been playing here for years because it’s only 10 minutes from home and is my hometown course but I’m done! Bunkers and traps are either mud holes or rock pits usually, occasionally they groom them for major events but usually ignore them. This time I came and paid weekend rates to find that the greens had been punched and sanded, in the middle of July with holes the size of a nickel and enough sand to make the greens look like a Florida beach! All this after enduring another “welcome” by “angry Rob” in the pro shop! The driving range was closed for 6 months for a major redo and after being open only a short time they close it again. All the while advertising green fees that include range balls. I’m over it and will now drive an extra 20-30 minutes to one of the other courses in my area. The only bright spots about Mansfield National are the friendly and efficient cart girls (especially Faith) and restaurant.
What a mess
Mansfield have some of the worse greens in the area however this year they have out done themselves. It seems they do not have the correct equipment to aerate. the greens have been destroyed aerating during the hottest time of the year and dragging some kind of harsh rake over what is left of the greens as created the worst conditions I have ever seen. Post hole digging is not aerating haha.
Good course!
Overall it is a good course! Some holes are not forgiving if you hook or slice! Nice greens and fairways!
Great Course
This course is a great looking public course that won't break your bank. I am annoyed they closed the driving range during the summer, but it is still a great value course.
Great track, would definitely play again
First things first: yes, the pace of play here was pretty slow. But it was a beautiful Saturday on Father's Day weekend, so what are you gonna do? Just relax and enjoy the round.
Great, challenging course, and one that long hitters can't just overpower unless you're really accurate off the tee. Lots of blind/semi-blind shots, hitting to targets and such. Fun course. All members of the staff I encountered were friendly and courteous, especially the starter at #1.
Note to course management: maybe space out the tee times just a hair, and also: put more than one rake at each bunker. I'm not sure that'd affect pace too much, but it certainly doesn't help pace when you're in the bunker and the only rake is 30 yards away on the other side.
Golf can be fun
This was one of the most fun rounds of golf I’ve played. Great corse for the value. Perfect setup for amateur golfers, generous fairways with semi small greens to make for exciting iron shots. And a natural authentic Texas feel to the golf course. Had a blast and will be back again soon.
Was alright
Course was in good shape. Greens were a little fuzzy but still had good speed. Pace of play was awful. Waited on every shot. Sometimes multiple groups on one tee box waiting.
A good value
They punched the greens a while back and they're starting to come back nicely.
Traps are in terrible shape, which is a chronic problem for Mansfield National.
Hopefully they fix them after the rainy season.
Punched greens
Used the range only, did not play.
Green punch very recently, see picture.
It's still quite sandy. The sand will jump up like water when you chip in.
Mixed Opinions
This course does not drain well. If only the staff would have said something regarding the conditions, but they’re trying to make money. It’s a nice layout but I regret having spent the money.
