Mansfield National Golf Club
About
Mansfield National Golf Club's tees range from 5,263 to 6,850 yards and the course plays to a par 72. The large, undulating greens make for inviting targets. The fairways are lined by every type of tree imaginable, with bunkers looming to suck in tee shots. Scores can add up on holes 11 and 16, with the lake coming into play, but water comes into play on only four holes total. The best hole is no. 5, considered one of the toughest par 3s in north Texas. It plays a very 3-wood-like 233 yards into a tough green that's hard to hold with the wind at your back. Located just south of Arlington Mansfield National also offers FootGolf, a combination of soccer and golf.

Hole #1 green Photo submitted by u619737543 on 05/01/2016
Was several years ago that I last played the course. Greens seemed slower this time compared to prior visits.
Fun course for mid-level players
Staff as always was very friendly. Teed-off right on time and pace of play was good. Fairways were in good shape, greens ran true but a little slow. Bunkers could use a little work.
Don’t waste your time
Terrible. Drive from Denton and it was a waste of time. Range closed and fairways and greens haven’t been mowed in a week
Overgrow greens
I have been playing golf for 30 years and these were the slowest greens I have ever played, the grain was literally half an inch long. Should have been an advisory before booking. Regardless of the reason.
Standing water
Course could use a little care around the greens and grass around the fairways are to high can’t find those off of the fairways balls.
Good public course
Mansfield National is a fun and challenging course. You can make it more challenging by playing from the gold tees or somewhat easier by playing the silver tees. The biggest complaint is the cart paths concrete surface needs to be fixed/replaced in many areas. I would like to have seen markers about 30-40 yards in front of the greens to advise players to get their cart back on the cart path. Some golfers were oblivious and would drive near the green.
Very nice course
The course was in in very good shape and the weather was awesome too!!!
Twosomes On a Saturday with a full course and a Jr tourney at 1pm.... WHAT!!!!!!!
I have a great friend of 28 years who lives in Austin. Every 2-3 months we rotate up here in DFW and back to Austin. I book my tee time with GolfNow just before 10am. Nice smooth check in, breakfast, gets drinks set up, hit range balls, then pull around to the #1 tee 5 minutes before our tee time. We see a twosome on the tee box, a two some waiting, a foursome that had just pulled off, a twosome headed to the green. I asked the starter if we were on time, he said no. I asked, "you are letting twosomes go off on a Saturday 10am?" And while a very nice man, you DO NOT allows twosomes when you charge what you charg! We waited over 25 minutes before we were able to tee off. Three holes into the round, an instructor and student cut in front of us ahead of the foursome because it had opened up by 2 wholes, plus they putted as if they had $1,000 on each put. We pull up to 8 tee box and a Marshal tells us there is a Jurionr Tournament and we needed to pick up the pace, still very nice and I am 2 over at that moment. Well, that did it! You let twosomes go off, make we wait on my tee time that I drove over an hour for, my buddy over 3 hours...and hurry up.. Then we get to #10. FOUR GROUPS of Foursomes, young high school kids who were ready to let it rip and their parents. We get pushed through ... Barely since our cart was blocked from getting through and when we got to the tee, they had paired up the two twosomes in front of us. The HORN sounds for the Jr Tourney to begin and these kids wait on the foursome in front of us, then my buddy and I. AND THEN EACH OF THEIR 4 FOURSOMES....then #11, at least 3 groups for Foursomes of kids and parents, still have not tee'ed off. Remember the HORN sounded amost 35-40 minutes ago, and wait on every single shot except 2 par fours after par 3's! Most miserable $100 I have spent on golf in a long time. I went the the counter Pro and told him my concerns and said to let him go find his head pro. I waited, waited, went top the head, came back no on came back and we left. I called back yesterday and spoke to the highest ranking pro, explained briefly what happened and asked to speak to the head pro. He took my info. I told them I would give until noon today to hear back from someone. Sadly, we have a pretty nice track (short), some respectable greens, fairways nice plushness still, a good ball workers course but this course for a Saturday, very poorly managed and without a call back, no one really cared about our experience. As a long time member at Tangleridge until moving, you folks are miles behind the Golf Pro there and his crew! Tangleridge was my first choice but had a tourney.... If you want a nice track down South, Tangleridge will be it for me.
Fun course
Course is in very good shape. Wish I would have known we were the first tee time after a junior tournament. Took 5-1/2 hours to play. No way of knowing when booking. Friendly cart girls who show up regularly.
Great course layout
Loved the layout of the course. It's a very fair course with generous fairways and large greens. The fairways were in pretty good shape. There were some issues that resulted in my "average" rating. The greens were extremely slow and hard with a lot of sand on the surface. The bunkers were very inconsistent - some had very little sand and others had hard packed sand. Surprised by how poor they were overall. Lastly, the pace of play was slow. There are no marshals on the course. We waited on every shot on every hole. Course could be a gem if the above issues were addressed.
Beach Greens
I’m a little upset, I wasn’t informed the greens had lots of sand on them.
Sand traps are unplayable
The tees, fairways, and green were o.k., very dry greens and won't hold a ball,. Sand traps sucked. Hard with no sand inside.
Good conditions, 2nd cut needs work
Staff and cart girl were very friendly and pace of play was great on a Thursday. Fairways are very good, greens are for the most part pretty good. The 2nd cut just off the fairways and around the greens is ridiculously thick and hairy. Half the time you can barely find your ball being one yard off the fairway. This is not the US Open guys, cut the grass and let us amateurs have a fun round.
Greens are terrible
The fairways were nice but the Greens where in terrible shape. Slow and lumpy....
Great course.
Course was great. Fabulous condition, great layout. Player friendly with wide fairways.
Mansfield National
Entertaining golf course, not overly difficult, but requires course management to score well.
Good time on a great course
Hadn't played in a while and booked the night before. Was extremely pleased with the whole experience. The course was in excellent condition and the pace of play made for a very enjoyable round.
