Mansfield National Golf Club
About
Mansfield National Golf Club's tees range from 5,263 to 6,850 yards and the course plays to a par 72. The large, undulating greens make for inviting targets. The fairways are lined by every type of tree imaginable, with bunkers looming to suck in tee shots. Scores can add up on holes 11 and 16, with the lake coming into play, but water comes into play on only four holes total. The best hole is no. 5, considered one of the toughest par 3s in north Texas. It plays a very 3-wood-like 233 yards into a tough green that's hard to hold with the wind at your back. Located just south of Arlington Mansfield National also offers FootGolf, a combination of soccer and golf.

Great Course
The golf course is in fantastic shape. Can not wait for my next round.
Beware of this course
I spent a generous amount of time thinking about the title of this review, but to no avail, this is as nice as I could get. Having arrived an hour before my tee time, it was pleasant experience up to when I was about to tee off. I went inside to get some breakfast and after having passed by the front counter with 4 staff members behind AND making eye contact with every single staff member, I was standing at the snack counter for close to 5 minutes before having to make a return trip to the front counter and asking if the snack counter was staffed. Only then did one of the staff members pipe up and say that he was manning the snack counter. Food was good, and was made from scratch. After having tee'd off, I was having an amazing first round, despite all the road noise, road construction, and surrounding building construction, but this changed at the turn. Through the first nine, I did not see any Marshalls or Player Assistants or Cart Girls, thought this was not a problem, at this time. After making the turn, I ran into a threesome that was nice enough to let me play though, then I ran into a sevensome that I ignored me and I had to skip a hole ahead, then another fivesome that ignored any polite requests of playing through. Long story shot, this ruined my pace to the point that I called off my round and went back in. No Staff on the course to notice what was going on, and the Staff in the Clubhouse had no idea what was going on on their course, even with active GPS. This course has gone severely down hill. I will never play this course again, and I DO NOT recommend this course to anyone.
Great fun
Really enjoyed playing this course. The greens were immaculate. Almost felt like we were playing in the summer. Pace of play was not bad. We had a twosome and were playing behind two foursomes, yet we were only about 4 minutes behind. I will definitely play this course again.
Mansfield National
I've been playing here for about 8 years now. It keeps getting better every year.
Good value but where was marshal?
For winter play, greens in top notch condition. Fairway grass non-existent but that sure helped the ball roll. Sometimes even right off fairway slopes to get lost in the rough! And dry remnents of cut grass swirled all over us & gear in cart. Foursome ahead had 3 carts but failed to maintain pace without practicing etiquette of picking up errant putts or offering playthru to our two-some. Consequently backed up foursomes behind us as well. However inside clubhouse was nice and staff including cart girl all extremely cordial. Course generally has better fairway conditions than present in this round. Will play there again when grass comes back.
Best winter greens, slow pace, friendly staff
Best winter greens, just like last year (good job!).
Slower pace, the 5 ahead took too long for us two. Did not see any Marshall out.
The course has hard grounds. Had to push really hard on the tee to get it in. Fairway is similar, that's why our group don't play as much here.
Fairly easy course, good, friendly staff.
Better than most
Played on Thanksgiving Friday. Pace was good at just under 4 hours. Course was in good shape overall. Bunkers and rough were fair, greens were a little slow, but very true. A light rain fell most of the day, but nothing we couldn't play thru. A good deal on golfnow brought me down here.
Short par 5's are get-able. 2-3 longish par 4's. Course is much more difficult in the wind, given its links style layout. Still a good bargain and great winter conditions.
360 construction makes it difficult to get there. Give yourself some extra time.
Friendly staff; course in Great Shape
The staff at Mansfield National could. It be more friendly, from check-in, to the bar staff, to the cart girls out in the course. The course is in great shape.
interesting new course but Marshall was poor
for no reason. We got a 10:08 tee time but when we got there there was tournament so they said our 2 some would be delayed on front 9. Then he sent us to 10 and forced us to pair up with another two some (there was no real need for him to do this). pair up was fine, but he was really rude about it "you have not choice, I'm running this golf course and you can pair up or wait 30 minutes....." there was NO ONE ever behind us the rest of the day through 18 holes.
Great Course to Check out!
This is a cumulative review as I have played this course many times. The drainage on this course isn't the greatest as there was standing water in the bunkers from rain a few days before. Also, there were some muddy spots on the course. But when the course conditions are dry, this course is worth the drive!
Do not play if it has recently rained
I have played this course many times, rain and shine. This is a cumulative review. The course usually drains pretty well, but it can get muddy quick, and then it is cart path only. Not all bunkers have drainage systems, which leads to standing water in bunkers after rains. If it has not rained within 3-4 days. I highly recommend this course. It has a wide variety of holes, and is a good value. It is out of the way for most people, but definitely worth the drive!
Rainy but great experience
Heavy rainy for about 20 minutes interrupted our round. Course drained well and we were able to complete our round. Best overall experience I've had in along time. Staff, Food, and course condition exceptional.
Mansfield National Golf
Course in good condition however they have allow the rough to grow and it is a must you keep your ball in the short grass. However some holes are easier and more forgiving. Fairways are in good condition.
great time
weather was nice, played late in the day . no waiting . course still appears nice. road construction so watch out for detour signs . long ride from home but worth it!
