Mansfield National Golf Club
About
Mansfield National Golf Club's tees range from 5,263 to 6,850 yards and the course plays to a par 72. The large, undulating greens make for inviting targets. The fairways are lined by every type of tree imaginable, with bunkers looming to suck in tee shots. Scores can add up on holes 11 and 16, with the lake coming into play, but water comes into play on only four holes total. The best hole is no. 5, considered one of the toughest par 3s in north Texas. It plays a very 3-wood-like 233 yards into a tough green that's hard to hold with the wind at your back. Located just south of Arlington Mansfield National also offers FootGolf, a combination of soccer and golf.

Fix the range
I've been playing this course for several years, and will say the course is in very good condition, improving over the past year plus. Fairways, greens are in great condition. My complaint is the range. It seems way too many times when I get to the course with enough time to hit a bucket of balls the range is closed. I know that even a little rain affects the range as it has a lot of low levels, but it stays closed for even a day, or two later. The range needs to be fixed so that a light drizzle won't close it, or, post something on their website so that people aren't arriving an hour early unable to hit some balls. Otherwise, very good course, with the pace of play pretty good during the week.
GREAT SHAPE
COURSE IN GREAT SHAPE.WAS NOT BUSY.
GOOD TIME
Fun course but needs cleanup.
The course was in good condition for August. The greens rolled very good. Fairways were fast and green. The course is in need of a cleanup. Crabgrass is taking over certain areas. Trash is prominent off the cart paths. This does not affect play but is an eye sore. Great Cart Girls!
Nice course
Course was in great shape. A little slow pace. Be care of the 6.00 hot dog.
Great course--a little too expensive
Course was in excellent shape. With golfnow, it still cost over $40. We teed off at 10:00 and there was no waiting. The man at the golf shop wasn't friendly at all. He barely spoke. Overall a great experience.
Fantastic Golf
Great course conditions! Fun course layout. Great golf value for early Sunday tee time.
Pace of play worst ever
I have played numerous rounds in my life, and this one was by far the worst. Not sure what the deal was, but the course was running 45 minutes behind teeing people off, and to top that off it took 3 hours to complete the front 9. Hope this was just an isolated occurrence because the course is actually decent. I don't see myself playing here in the future due to this experience however.
Challenging, but fun course
Course setup is great, Front 9 contains 5 out of the 9 toughest holes. I always shoot higher on the front than the back. Great Driving range and putting green. Friendly pro shop attendants. Hottest cart girls in DFW. Whats not to love?
Good course
Some greens had a few bare spots but 90% of them were good. Rolled a bit slow. Fairways were in great shape
Heading in wrong direction
Greens had crabgrass throughout. Very bumpy from aeration. Poor effort to maintain greens. Maybe a month from now it will see benefit but can't see it in the near future. Won't return until conditions improve.
Nice Course
Greens were sandy which made putting a challenge. Fairways in great shape. Playing in 100 degree weather at 1:00 meant I didn't have to wait. Played 18 holes in 2 hours.
GREENS
Grab grass every where 7 hole I was on the fringe 1 foot from the green surface in front of my ball was 3 inch tall patch of grab grass. I have been playing this coarse for years, steadily this coarse was improving until last summer now it is the worst coarse in Tarrant co
A MUST-PLAY COURSE
I thoroughly enjoyed my round here. The staff is wonderful, the food is very good, and the course is challenging and in good shape. I especially enjoyed playing the number-one handicap hole, a 200-yard par three! Overall, an awesome experience, and I can't wait to lay this course again!!
Best course/value in DFW
Good staff, kitchen/clubhouse. Range is decent, practice area is very good.
Tees, fairways are excellent, greens are always perfect. Very fun layout, pace is ok but not too good on weekend afternoons.
You will not find a more amateur friendly stretch of holes than the first 4 here including a very reachable par 5, however you get to #5 and it's very easy to give back any strokes you might've gained, it's a mid to long tee shot that it's almost all carry, relax cause you get another chance to reach the green in two if you are willing to flirt with the bunkers on your right off the tee.
Par 4s are pretty average as far as trouble, flat and short with wide fairways par 3s are short and 3 of the par 5s are very reachable. Fairways are friendly and hardly any trees in your way, I believe only one hole has water, bunkers are going to be in play very little and are a bit tough but because it's hard to keep them in good shape here in North Texas, I like a golf course to look green like this one, rough is average height but very green. Really only 4 holes require some attention, #5, 11, 12 and 15 can play a bit tough if you get careless, other than that you pretty much can see any trouble off the tee if any on the rest of the course.
If you are needing some birdies coming in, #s 16, 17 and 18 are going to be what you want, perfect for scoring, let it fly, play 16 as a three shot green and make your putt, 17th is as easy as it gets, a close approach gets you another bird. A draw off the tee on 18 will help a lot but a straight ball or even a cut will work good too, a front pin is a great birdie chance on this awesome finishing hole.
Beginners will come back, advance players will want to score better the next time, straight ball hitters you're going to be safe, no need to put your driver away here, don't hold back. You will find out that if you're a little right or left off the tee, you'll still have a shot at the green, like I said, very friendly course. Very pleasant cart girls.
Sometime before you get to your car the thought of coming back will cross your mind.
Mansfield National
The course was in good condition but a few holes had holes punched in the greens which made putting more difficult.
Mansfield National
Course was good shape. Greens played well. I would recommend this course to everyone.
Poor staff communication
When I arrived for my tee time, the staff should have advised there was a Junior Tournament in progress and the groups have been playing behind. The starter advised there were at least 7 Junior Groups that still needed to come through and they were all walking. I would've have gladly re-scheduled but felt as though the Pro Shop just wanted to squeeze in as many people as possible to get their fees.. Needless to say myself and two other customers received a rain check and walked away. Need better communication from the staff prior to checking in.
Great Condition, Great Greens
The course was better condition than most. There were some puddles of water, but giving the rain, 4 stars. However, did not interfere with play.
We played this course many time.
This course had maintained great greens since the winter. Best from all around the area.
Some apartments lining the tee boxes/ fairways, but not on both sides.
Has practice green, huge range.
Fairway ground was a bit harder than most (clay? instead of sand), still playable of course.
Good course layout, friendly staff, great course condition and great greens.
Opportunities for improvements:
Shoe brushes at holes (or selected holes). Drainage problem close to hole #10 from cart path to green, even when there is no rain.
Range had barren areas with exposed ground.
Fairway can be softer (very hard to fix, it is what it is, I suppose)
